How does one create Blitz Basic compatible anim files?
From the manual.

I think they mean ANIM5 above. Have you tried a normal ANIM5?

I've tried normal ANIM5s, they kind of work but they play back distorted.
ANIM2 appears to be what they're discussing, compare "long delta (type 2) compression" above with the Wikipedia description: "ANIM-2 Long Delta mode". |

=================== By Stephen McNamara (c)1994 Reflective Images This library enables the playback of both Anim5 and Anim7 format animations. It allows you to playback animations at any co-ordinate in a bitmap and supports different palettes for frames of the animation. It also allows you to playback animations from FAST ram, thus you can now play massive animations that can only fit in FAST ram. |

hmm, seems noone cares about anim2 format anymore. anyway.
I found another tool by Newtek, AnimTool v0.15 which can handle anim2 to anim8. cli option -I opens a gui. zoned: AnimTool_v0.15-Newtek.lha |
