Licenseware games?
Does anyone know if any of F1 Licenseware's games are available on the web? Several sites mention them but have virtually no other information. I know we're only supposed to request 'old school' games on this board - are these games still being sold?

Thanks for the info :thumbs_up
There is only a passing mention of their Amiga products on that site, and it seems they are (not suprisingly) no longer selling them. Looks like most Amiga licenseware just ended in a kind of disbanded state There is some information available at http://dto-software.freeservers.com/ and on Aminet, but not much. Does anyone have a list of other licenseware companies or products? I can only think of "F1 Licenseware" (products such as GRAC etc) and "CLR Licenseware". |

The other famous licenceware company was 5th Dimension Licenceware. Also there were Sadeness Software,
CLR Licenceware and probably some more. Go to my site and enter LICENCE in the searchengine which will list the licence-games from above companies. <akira>oi mate, don't put your signature like that, enable it ONLY from your USerCP, please </akira> Last edited by Amiga1992; 26 July 2001 at 19:19. |

I remember F1 Licenseware well, and I'd like to get m mitts on some of it too. I consider it oldschool. I have only two games (as far as I remember) published by them, Aquanaut and F1. I could upload them once I dump them.

F1 licenceware cd
There is an f1 licenseware cd , but it only has games 1-100 on it. However it is a great cd and well worth buying if you don't already have it. I think epic or weird science used to sell it:-
www.amigagames.co.uk www.weirdscience.co.uk if you want the list of games, I'll dig it out for you to have a look at. |

Ok, I have Aquanaut and F1 Racer here, however, I don't know if I dumped Aquanaut correctly. It is not working on Fellow, it could have been badly dumped because my stupid disk drive has been acting funny (I need a new ne).
I will try it out on my Amiga today (I had no time to do that yesterday, and with the drive working as pish, it wouldnt help) and if it works fine I'll up it to the ADF ZOne.. for now, F1 racer is up |

Thanks Akira
For me these Licenceware and Shareware games are actually more interesting than some commercial stuff, especially as they often seem to be very rare (full versions that is). Still, at least there are a few full versions being released on Aminet from time to time; always nice when an author does that. |

No problemo, Im also very interested in this type of games, as you say, they are more rare than commercial ones.
I just tried Aquanaut in Winfellow and it didnt work either. I think I have made a bad dump and I wont post the game until I know it works on a real miggy. Least thing I want is for a dupe to get spread :P |

I have this game, so I went ahead and posted it for you, dude. It works fine for me in WinUAE, so it will probably work in WinFellow, as well.
This game is, of course, not to be confused with the 1989 arcade-adventure of the same name (which was released by Miles Computing here in the states and by Prism Leisure in Europe...) |
