Question Need help to restore a HD backup (full of sources) !

In the ancient time, all my sources were stored on a A590...and,
unfortunatly, it didn't run anymore.

At the same time, i used floppies to make a full backup of the hard drive.
However, a stupid problem i have to face is, i've completly forgot which tool i used (of course the backup tool is on the crashed HD) !!!

Clues:
So i've a 17 floppies set of non standard DOS, when i insert one floppy under workbench, the displayed name is "THBo".
I've tried Power Packer, Zoom, DMSui and QuarterBack without success...
I think the tool i used must be similar to QuarterBack (backup on multiple floppies with a special format)

Any suggestions are welcome !

Read bootblock from first disk, perhaps you can find name of backup tool.
Also you can make own file ripper from disk images (if backup data are unpacked).

use a disk/file editor (create an adf image of disk one - if no diskeditor is available), inspecting the boot sector. if you are unsure, post a picture of the hex / ascii dump of the bootsector.

ADF created and Root block dumped

Thanks you both for your good idea!

I've transfered all floppies under ADF format,
then edit with HexWorkshop (PC) the first floppy.

And fortunatly there is a clear kind of backup catalog.
Where i can find the complete content of the backup.

The beginning of the first ADF file starts with 'THB.......'
followed by a complete catalog.

I've searched, and now maybe i've used a GUI over LHA tool...
I continue to explore this raw catalog.

i guess it might be "THI Tools" - THBackup:
http://www.amigafuture.de/asd.php?asd_id=737
http://www.amigafuture.de/album_page.php?pic_id=4586

but still no copy found

Edit: seems to be a rare app, if you still have a copy, please zone it

Original HD A590 gave his last breathe...

I've tried yesteday to restore the A590 with RDBrecovery tool.

It's well started; it found the complete directory structure.
So i can search in there a possible TH Backup; but not present.

Unfortunatly the HD definitively crashed before running the fixing operation.

The list of crunchers listed was : zoo, lharc, lzh, power packer, turbo imploder, dms.

The dump of the previously ADF file shows me the directory structure too; The files are not crunched, just packed after the directory structure.

hmm, THI-Tools sounds good to me, the shortcut at bootblock seconds this. so hopefully some user might have a copy of this one.
even not crunched, extracting those files manualy is horrible :/

@jmparis:

I have found a website which features a collection of old computers and software including THI Tools, described as a loose disk (unboxed) without the manual.

The page which includes this item is here:
http://www.tietokonemuseo.net/pelit/commodoreAmiga.php

...and the homepage is here:
http://www.tietokonemuseo.net/

There is a page for contacting the webmaster here:
http://www.tietokonemuseo.net/yhteydenotto.htm
reached by a link from the homepage.

You might be able to get a copy of this disk if you ask nicely!
