Display Differences between v4.9.1 and v4.10
Hi there!
I was using WinUAE v4.9.1 with the HighGFX monitor and my display looked good. I installed WinUAE 4.10 and the exact same configuration (both WinUAE and Workbench) shows an "unsmoothed" display. Also, I noticed that the screen capture of the two displays, produced by v4.9.1 and v4.10) are of difference sizes: 1024x768 with v4.9.1 but 1920x1080 with v4.10, although both have the same Display configuration. I attached screenshots if they could help? Take care! |

@tygre, I have an WinUAE emulated RTG 1200 at Fullscreen size to my Laptop, AmigaOS3.2.1, the Workbench use a scaled backdrop of 1366x768 from the original .ADF from the AmigaOSCD-Rom, but when I take a screenshot of this 1366x768 Workbench in WinUAE 4.10.0, it's saved as a 800x600 screen. I Can upload my .uae-config later and other related info if needed. P96 3.3.x. from iComp

DirectDraw mode was enabled? It is gone in 4.10 and replaced with GDI mode which can't do exclusive fullscreen.

But I want to have (as much as possible) the same configuration than my real A1200, on which I don't have P96 but use the HighGFX monitor Cheers! |

Hi Toni!
Quote:
When selecting Direct3D 11 ("HDR" or not) instead of GDI, I get a nicer looking display but it is "stretched" to fill my physical screen instead of being centred with black borders on both side. I tried different combinations of options but couldn't get the "original" display as with DirectDraw, it is maybe not possible anymore? My configuration:
Thanks! |

I don't recommend exclusive fullscreen anymore (full-window + aspect ratio setting should be usually good enough)
But if you want exclusive fullscreen, check GPU control panel. At least NVidia has GPU scaling options and some of them cause this kind of problems. Try also D3D9. Sometimes it works differently. DirectDraw is gone because it has been long obsolete and works usually quite badly on later Windows versions, especially in exclusive fullscreen. |

Thanks Toni!
I don't mind using the window mode and I tried various settings in the Filter page to correct the ratio but I'm not able to have a "smooth" output. (I tried with GDI and the various Direct3D.) Is there a combination of options that I could use to have the same "smooth" display as with DirectDraw? Thanks in advance! |

On the right side of the Filters page there is a box labelled Extra Settings. It contains a selection box usually saying Point/Bilinear and below that there is a slider. Move that slider to the right, then you get your smooth display back.

Hi Thomas and thank you so much!
Exactly the "effect" that I was looking for: now my configuration looks good and is as close as possible as my real Amiga! Cheers! |
