Maximum files?
Hi,
I've done a search and can't seem to find it anywhere... What is the maximum number of files a directory can hold or is it limitless? |

Hi Brakus,
I think that the number of directory entries, rather than files, is what is limited, and this applies only to the root directory. I'm not sure of the value, but it might well depend on the size of the disk. The number of directory entries for subdirectories is without limit AFAIK. prowler |

Amiga filesystems don't have any limit (files and directories are in hash table + linked list, at least in OFS and FFS. Other filesystems use similar methods)
FAT has root limit. |
