cd32 games & amiga keyboard
I just got a amiga 2000 keyboard with a din to ps/2 adapter so I could play some amiga games on the cd32. I tried the cd32 compilations cd's and the unofficial turrican collection cd by rgcd.
I just wanted to know if the games can be played entirely with keyboard? Im asking because when I try I can't move with the keyboard. Also only one action works. |

Most Amiga games used a joystick and CD32 games with a joypad. Some games like turrican allowed special weapons to be activated with keys like SPACE.

so what your saying is that this is normal? If so why do so many people recommend getting a keyboard to play the older amiga games for the cd32? Who wants to have to let go of the control to push a key on the keyboard? That seems so awkward.

Hi sak561, I did get your message - sorry for not replying sooner, but my hard disk died recently.
CD32 + Keyboard, let me explain; The CD32 only had a very limited number of games released officially, and when people started making unofficial discs for the machine, a lot of games didn't work properly because somewhere along the line they require keyboard input (be it on a high score table, or a keypress to use a special weapon or menu). Most amiga users only had a one-button joystick back in the day, so many games require additional keyboard presses. That's just the way it is, I'm sorry to say. Since people have started using WHDLoad there has been the occasional joypad fix to solve these problems, so if there is a particular game you'd like fixed maybe the WHDLoad request thread is the place to start? Having a keyboard for your cd32 is far from essential, but it does allow you access to a wider library of games. |

I understand, Thanks for the replies.
If it allows more games to be played then it is worth it. |
