So, do those games have a different RTG mode or do they just work with RTG screenmodes?

That gets complicated. They mostly allow you to select any screen. But some like Myst have two executables and colonization has a tooltype to allow it to be run on the Workbench screen. None of them need to be promoted though - there are a few games that can be run on RTG screens through promotion that I didn't bother to list.

Well, to make it a bit clearer : If there is a different RTG mode, we'd list them as RTG games. If the game only works with an RTG screenmode, but offers no advantages over an AGA screenmode, we'd not list them as RTG games. Would be nice if you could sort out those which have a screenmode not available with AGA

Think Gloom Quake1/2 and VirtualGP are already listed correctly. Didn't bother to mention AB3DII as it is very buggy. The other two are not listed and there are a lot more that could be added. Such as Diamond Caves II, James Bond....

But if that's not good enough I will look through them to see if they qualify - but I think most will. Last edited by TCD; 02 April 2011 at 01:07. Reason: Back to back posts merged. Use the edit function. |

No major differences: Aqua Colonization Maniacball Megaball 4 Moonbases Pacman 96 Shadow Of The Third Moon Tales From Heaven Uchess Wild Flying Wolfenstein 3D Zombie Apocalypse These should be listed as RTG: Day Of The Tentacle - Higher resolutions Descent: Freespace - Higher resolutions + more colours Diamond Caves - Broken in lores but great in hires 1024*768*256 on my A1500! Doom - Higher resolutions Doom II - Higher resolutions Duke Nukem 3D - Higher resolutions Eat The Whistle - Higher resolutions Earth 2140 - The expansion pack is already listed as RTG Fields Of Battle - More colours Heretic - Higher resolutions + more colours Heretic II: The Siege - Heretic II engine already listed as RTG Myst - More colours (+ a clickBOOM anim! ) Nemac IV - Higher resolutions Nemac IV Directors Cut - Higher resolutions Puzzle Bobs - Higher resolutions + more colours Sam & Max Hit The Road - Higher resolutions X-Men - Ravages Of Apocalypse - Quake engine already listed as RTG Zombie Massacre - Gloom Deluxe engine already listed as RTG Don't care: Knights & Merchants Sin Still to confirm: Exodus: The Last War - Probably not? @TCD
Could the titles be listed (with no advantage to Native Screen Mode) as RTG compatible, where as the others listed as RTG featured or perhaps something similar? |

Will have a word with Cody about that, but if we add that, we should also add which ECS/OCS games work on AGA...

AGA Compatible? [ NO ]. infact a little script can place this in or ignore it if the field is not entered or is a value other than NO. However, In all honesty we are only talking about adding an extra field for Amiga RTG compatibility. In the such that information on RTG compatible games or or RTG featured games would be a great boon of info for HOL and the members whom have RTG graphics solutions and are looking for games to use with it. |

What's the problem with other AGA (or even ECS/OCS) games on RTG systems? We had the discussion about adding the info about which hardware configurations a game would run on a while ago (which does include this topic) and I think if we add this kind of information then it should in a more general way then just to add RTG compatibility. Will ask Cody to add his thoughts about it as well here.

@TCD
that sounds like a plan, although to add more fuel for debate, would some games that have a different executable that awards extra features for RTG users be another Game Entry in its own right? |

AFAIK it depends if the game was sold seperately.
