Amiga Future: Old Amiga Joker issues as PDF online

http://eab.abime.net/attachment.php?...1&d=1673611683

Amiga Future: Old Amiga Joker issues as PDF online

All old issues of the Amiga Joker are now available as PDF free of charge in the download area of the Amiga Future webpage.

https://www.amigafuture.de/app.php/dlext/index?cat=32

The project started in 2009 (yes, really 2009!) on the A1k forum. The project has seen many interruptions and delays and has certainly been completely forgotten by some of those involved.

But now all issues are finally scanned and online.

The A1K users AMIPEGUSER, echo, evil, Lomaxx and Tracer were involved in the project. I hope nobody was overlooked.

Currently we are still looking for someone who can create an index of all articles of the Amiga Joker editions.

In the course of the year all articles should also be entered into the Amiga Future article database.

In the Amiga Future article database you can currently read around 5,000 articles online: https://www.amigafuture.de/app.php/kb/index

The Amiga Joker 2017 and Amiga Joker 2019 are of course still available in our online shop: https://www.amigashop.org/index.php?cPath=42

25 years of Amiga Future

http://eab.abime.net/attachment.php?...1&d=1674041420

25 years of Amiga Future

Just about 25 years ago the first edition of Amiga Future saw the light of day. In that era, the Amiga Future was still published for sale via newsagents, and high-street magazine retailers as a special issue produced by ICP-Verlag. Since issue 27, the Amiga Future magazine has been created and distributed entirely by just our editorial team, and since issue 67 Amiga Future has been available as both German and English editions.

When the magazine was founded, 25 years ago, the Amiga Future was intended solely for the games market, as hardware or applications featured only a small section in it. However, this has changed significantly over the last few decades, and now all aspects related to the Amiga are dealt with in our magazine. Occasionally there are topics that seem to have little or nothing to do with the Amiga, but that is usually quite rare and is likely to remain so in the Amiga's future!

Actually, our 25 year anniversary is worthy of being celebrated in a big way, but we don't have the means to do that, let alone the time. You see, we're not a big publisher, so we've decided to spread our anniversary celebrations throughout the year.

So, we have a fantastic raffle with many and varied prizes to be won in our current issue. There will also be various background articles featuring the Amiga Future over the next few issues, along with other ideas that we are likely to implement later on, during this year.

Our Android news app is back working again. The new version is still at a beta stage, but progress is being made. If everything goes well, the app will be much improved and more extensive than ever before. We recommend that all users of the Android app always download the latest updates from the Playstore and regularly check the app's settings for improvements.

We are currently working on issue 161 of the Amiga Future, so lots of updates are being planned for our homepage.

The article database is to be expanded yet further this year, and all issues of the Amiga Joker are to be integrated on our website (PDFs are already online) with many sold-out issues of the Amiga Future also due to be accessible on it. In addition, a plethora of full versions are still waiting for publication on the Amiga Future webpage.

Of course, our goal this year is to increase our number of new readers and subscribers as much as possible. That would mean wider circulation and as a result more pages could finally be made possible for us all to enjoy even more.

In any case, we want you to be able to enjoy reading our content for many years to come.

Andreas Magerl

Additionally, here is a snippet more online reading material of our backstory to Amiga Future:

Amiga Future subscription - ONLINE - raffle

In our current issue 160 (25 years Amiga Future) we are currently holding a massive raffle with lots of great prizes
up for grabs.

However, we also want to offer everyone access to our smaller ONLINE raffle which incorporates a small survey.

You have the opportunity to win two one-year subscription to the Amiga Future which includes the magazine Readers' CD.

Everyone who replies by email to this online question will get to participate in our ONLINE raffle.
The winner will be drawn from all the entries we receive. Legal recourse is of course excluded.

The question is:

Where do you get your news from that relates to the Amiga, and which dealer(s) do you buy your Amiga product(s) from?
(Multiple entries are allowed and actually encouraged)

Please include the address/URL of the respective news webpage and the dealer you refer to.

You need to send your written reply to redaktion@amigafuture.de by 5th February 2023 with the subject title "raffle online".

Please do not include your postal address in the email, as we will notify the winner by email in due course.
Your data will not be stored here, passed on or even used for advertising.
That's why we don't even want your postal address.

The background for asking the question is to learn which news sites and dealers are visited/valued most by our Amiga users.

The Amiga Future magazine Issue 161 - preview is now available to view online

The Amiga Future magazine Issue 161 - preview is now available to view online

These comprise of the full colour preview and excerpts of our Amiga Future issue 161 (March/April 2023) which can also be viewed online on the Amiga Future website.

Some of the interesting articles in this issue are:

Interview Colin Vella
Review AmiCygnix 1.7
Demoscene

Of course there's actually so MUCH more in the magazine.

Needless to say you will often get other versions of software, some of which were commercially available, as well as some of the latest try-outs or freely released software applications and games for, hopefully, every Amiga variant of Operating system, so that's Amiga 'Classic', OS4, MorphOS, and AROS, including some PD software for these systems, all on the Readers' cover CD.

A detailed description of the varied content and excerpts of our current issue can be found at: https://www.amigafuture.de/app.php/kb/index?c=13

The Amiga Future magazine is available both as an English and German printed magazine - each issue is printed in FULL COLOUR - directly available from our magazine editorial office and from various other Amiga dealers.

Important Notice!

All our Amiga Future subscribers should check that both your current postal and email addresses for you are correct that has been supplied by you to us.
The Amiga Future gets packed and shipped a few days prior to its actual release date. So, we need any change/correction to your address to be passed to us before we dispatch it, and in any case as soon as possible.
Bear in mind that: Usually requests to forward on mail will not be handled with such mail items, i.e. magazines!

We also ask that you check that your subscription fee(s) are current and up to date, i.e. already been paid, as some, in fact quite a few, subscription fees are still not currently fully paid.

Amiga Future subscription campaign for more pages

An Amiga Future issue currently has 52 (+4) pages.
+4 means that we temporarily have four additional pages in each issue due to the amount of advertisements.

However, we generally want to increase the number of pages in the Amiga Future in order to have more space for editorial content.
There is more than enough for testing. We only need the space for it and of course a few editors and translators as well.

In order to be able to finance this permanently, we simply need more subscribers. Well ... a couple of long-term advertisers for the magazine and homepage wouldn't be bad either, but this is only about the subscribers and the number of pages.

We have calculated the whole thing more precisely. In order to be able to finance four additional pages, we need 24 NEW subscribers. For eight pages we need 48 NEW subscribers.
Ideally, subscriptions with CoverCD.

https://www.amigashop.org/index.php?cPath=41

That's why we started a counter with immediate effect. If we create 24 new subscriptions by the 30. April 2023 , we will have four more pages in each issue of the Amiga Future in the future. With 48 new subscriptions even eight pages more.

And if there are more than 48 new subscriptions ... Well, let's think about it if the miracle should really happen.

You can find the current status of the campaign on the Amiga Future Webpage at the top.

All old issues of the Amiga Joker are now available as PDF free of charge in the download area of the Amiga Future webpage.

https://www.amigafuture.de/app.php/dlext/index?cat=32

In addition, the ALL Issues now been entered into our article database. This allows you to read these issues and the individual articles directly online.

Whole issues: https://www.amigafuture.de/app.php/kb/index?c=75

Amiga Future subscription campaign ended - more pages from issue 163

Amiga Future subscription campaign ended - more pages from issue 163

In April we had a subscription campaign for the Amiga Future.
The purpose of the campaign was to get enough new subscriptions to permanently increase the number of pages in the Amiga Future by 4 pages.
Unfortunately, the goal was missed.

Nevertheless, the Amiga Future will have more pages from issue 163 onwards. The remaining costs will be paid by APC&TCP.
This means that every Amiga Future issue has 56 instead of 52 pages.

But we're not satisfied with that. The Amiga Future is 25 years old this year and we hope that we can increase the number of pages again.

In August 2021 LEVEL UP opened the gates for the first time, at that time still in the Salzburg Arena.
The goal was and still is to establish Salzburg as the geographical center of Austria for a gaming and
eSports event and to make this trend accessible to a broad audience.
LEVEL UP is the first Austrian gaming and eSports festival that brings together recreational gamers,
professionals, gaming fans, as well as creators and stars of the scene in an experience-oriented
atmosphere to experience new trends and celebrate the common passion.
Until now, gaming events have mostly focused on pure competition. LEVEL UP combines this with
casual community building to ensure that all gamers and gaming fans get their money's worth.
This year's edition, which will be held for the third time at the Messezentrum Salzburg on July 1 and
2, 2023, will once again impress with the diversity and balance of the offerings. At LEVEL UP there is
something for everyone, no matter if hobby gamer, eSport pro, cosplayer, retro fan, indie lover, card
gamer, tabletop player, or even for grandparents who are out and about with their grandchildren.
Particularly successful program highlights from previous years will be back this year. Among others,
the LEVEL UP ICARACE World Championships, the high-class Rocket League tournament Morekats
Mayhem #4, cosplay action in cooperation with Animix, tabletop and card gaming in cooperation
with Gamers Finest Salzburg and CardArena, a drone championship, and a charity stream to raise
money for charitable causes.
There will also be a separate FSK16+ area, where players and organizations will battle it out in
tournaments without youth clearance.
New this year is that the ESSL National Championship will hold its final matches in Valorant at LEVEL
UP. On the mainstage, Street Fighter 6 will make its debut in a showmatch and as a very special
highlight, streamer Veyla will go live directly from LEVEL UP and report on the action on Twitch.
LEVEL UP promises to be a highlight among German-speaking events again this year. It doesn't
matter if you are an eSports organization, a hobby gamer or a game-loving family. Everyone can play
alone or together as they please, meet friends and stars of the scene, and chat about the latest
gaming trends at the numerous food trucks.
To make this year's event fun for the whole family, visitors under 16 pay a discounted price, and
children under 12 attend completely free.
