How do I speed the mouse up?

I have a new A600 with original Commodore mouse! Woo!

...except it moves so appallingly slowly that Workbench is a pain to use. And that's with the mouse speed in the preferences set to the highest value, 3.

Is there any way to make it go faster?

Click the acceleration button in the pointer prefs. You may only need it at 2 afterwards.

Aha, yes! Much better. It does now feel weird sloppy, but I can get from one side of the screen to the other in one go now. Thanks!

You can also install FreeWheel. It allows to accelerate the mouse up to another 300% over the prefs settings.
