Happy Lazarus Machine

Some months ago I bought a Blizzard 1230 IV 50 Mhz with 30 Mb and installed it in my A1200. It worked perfectly - I was a happy little bunny! I had it working for about 10 hrs transferring files from my PC when all of a sudden I smelt something horribly like burning plastic, before I could do anything the screen went black and the machine went off. Bugger!

I sniffed the A1200 and the PSU to try and locate the source of the smell but I couldn't be sure which one it was.
The next morning I swapped PSUs and tried again - nothing. Totally gutted by this I chucked the whole lot under the stairs, uninstalled Amiga Explorer and tried my best to forget about Amigas.

Yesterday (after being prompted by my wife to clear some space) I was going to take the lot to the dump. I thought I'd give it one last go - Lo! and Behold! it bloody well worked .

The accelerator was working and all the memory showed up - I had a quick game of SuperFrog and then turned it off for fear that it might die again. Now I don't know what to do - I'm worried that I might kill it off altogether.

Anyone got any thoughts about it?

Your A1200 still in the Desktop Case ?? If so, get the accelerator some cooling (e.g. leave the trapdoor open) or get a little fan for the CPU (normally not necessary)

It also may be that something like hair from the carpet or so, got to the PSU or the Amiga and fried...

Cooling definitely. I wouldn't DARE to use an Amiga (even less an accelerated one!) for 10 hours STRAIGHT without cooling.

Get yourself a nice fan

So that's the reason you weren't around for months
I've got the same accelerator here, newer used it for 10 hours but if I would, I'd at least keep the accelerator's trap door open and keep the machine a few cms above the table just to let the air to circulate.
