Not a single demo is included. All files are downloaded on demand.


How to use it
=============

1.  Extract the zip archive
2.  Run start-windows.bat or start-linux.sh
    I don't know much about Mac OSX. You need to change the base-directory
    to FS-UAE-DEMOS. See here how to do it:
    http://fs-uae.net/paths
3.  Go to "Scan Files and Configurations", add the directory containing 
    your kickstarts and click "Scan."
4.  Enjoy the demos :-)



How to use it with the portable version
=======================================

1.  Get a fresh copy of the portable version and extract it.
2.  Extract the zip archive and overwrite the directories "Cache" and "Data"
    with the "new demo dirs"
2.  run FS UAE Launcher
3.  Go to "Scan Files and Configurations", add the directory containing 
    your kickstarts and click "Scan."
4.  Enjoy the demos :-)

=====
--   Has been tested with fs-uae(-launcher) version 2.5.29dev only
--   All demos have been auto-imported from http://janeway.exotica.org.uk - send
     hugs to those people, blame it on me if there are non-working configurations
--   Database server is set to localhost to save oagd.net getting unnecessary
     requests. You should leave it that way. This is an offline database only.
--   Weblinks: "Longplay Video" searches the demo on youtube
              "Wikipedia Entry" searches demogroup on... guess where...
              "Game Home Page" links to release page on janeway.exotica.org.uk
              "Game Database Enty" fails to open

the only thing for me thats lacking, and its not your fault, is the ability to group/organize demos by group name and not just demo name, but that would mean changing fs-uae itself so i dont hold out for that, its great already!

I just uploaded an updated version to make it work with FS-UAE Launcher 2.7.8dev. Nothing else has been changed.
I still wasn't in the mood to start creating a config-file based demo-db for easier contribution. Apart from my laziness you still can't separate demos/custom entries and games in the launcher.

I have added a way to add custom databases to FS-UAE Launcher, so you can (in 2.7.9dev+) store it as:

Data/Databases/Custom/Demos.sqlite

- allowing it to co-exist with the game database(s). FS-UAE Launcher will not attempt to sync the custom database(s) with oagd.net.

I might also add a way to classify entries as Demos, and add "Demos" to the drop-down along with "Configs" and "Games"

Have anyone taken this further by now? I was able to download FS-UAE-DEMOS.zip but not surprisingly it doesnt work in the latest fs uae version. I would love to see the script that made the database, but at least I'll try to generate a set of configfiles from it.. Unless it havn't been done yet of course
