EAB free contributions – By user - In one place

The best things in life are free… well sometimes, but let’s dedicate a topic just for that.

After by chance of stumbling across a free contribution found from this site, I thought it would be nice to review all the generosity contributed to the community over the years. (That is if this topic has interest.)

Offer something that you are proud of, maybe you put a bit of hard work in it and don’t mind sharing.
i.e.. links to downloadable content, videos, reviews, databases, walk-throughs, games, demos, music samples etc…..

Criteria is simple,

Must be fitting to this forum (Not limited to Amiga).
It’s OK if it’s been offered on this forum before.
It should be free.
Keep advertising limited i.e. playable demos or tasters only if you feel it’s a contribution to the community.
Your own creation (Or have approval from the creator)..
I’m not sure about multiple entries, (pick your best)
You get the idea….

Here’s mine, not much, but it took a while to design.

I don't have the permission by the author Dino Dini (I tried to message him but he didn't answer, maybe someone else can reach him?), but I am working on the game Goal!

I try to correct the lineups and sort them the right way and also did some other corrections like with the tactics and language file.

It's getting better and more profound with every version.

According thread:

If you mention him on Twitter, he might follow you, linky. At least, that's what his contact page mentions.
I myself contributed by offering a couple of game packages specially designed for Gotek users, around the same time Akira had decided to put an end to his own Gotek related project, here is the support thread.
Many moons ago, Graham Humphrey supervised and released the last two issues of a short lived abime.net magazine of sorts "Amiga Point Of View", a quickly assembled fanzine in a similar fashion would be a great way to be headlining such EAB free projects (search the file server if you've never heard of APoV).

Small correction - along with blackcornflake, I was the editor on APoV magazine.

So I contacted Dino Dini and he didn't interdict me from working on the GOALnew project. That's what I can say.

Well, I think I'm done, lol. There is only some information missing about obscure players that I don't think I'll ever get and some other things are just a matter of taste and not right or wrong.

We could make a new Champions League from eFootball or Pro Evolution Soccer values, but it would be too much for me alone to handle at the moment. Maybe if we find volunteers that edit the teams like they find them for SWOS, but I can't edit 32 teams at the moment.

Self-indulgent? I don't know what that aims at, but we have been constantly making projects together about Goal, like lolafg and I made the Champions League 2013/14 together, Benvelor contributed some European teams, others contributed leagues, it was not self-indulgent, but just a proposal what we could do together.

Dont get me wrong Zak, everything you or any other member do is very appreciated.

Self indulgent was maybe not the right word. English is not my native Language. So i am sorry for using that word. It was not correct !

But i find it a little embarrassing to be honest to boast .. damn.. post about contributions (maybe just my stupid smurf brain)
Bert Jahn & Team gave the Amiga the biggest gift of them all but i dont think he will post that here. All the work they had done and still do.

Sorry if i offended you in any way. I did not mean to do that.
Really.

But we have this already.
http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=85200
and this
https://aminet.net/
and this
https://www.pouet.net/prodlist.php?p...S%2FECS&page=1
and this
http://www.whdload.de/
and this
https://mega.nz/folder/gdozjZxL#uI5SheetsAd-NYKMeRjf2A

and so on and so on .....
see, this would never end. I am really sad if i offended you in any way. Did not want that. I dose´nt want to hurt anybody.

I love you guys truly. Really i do.

A short and sweet list would be the best solution i think. But thats just a proposal.

Anyway.

Sorry if i was hurting your feelings.

Yours,Torti

Bert used to charge a few euros all those who wanted a registered version of WHDLoad, I still have my personal key and invoice somewhere . Also, the OP didn't ask for / probably doesn't need to be reminded EAB most significant contributions, but asked for EAB free contributions that may have escaped one's attention.

I know, i am a Registered user of WHDLoad

Free contributions are awesome; the heart and soul of the Amiga community.
thats why a list would be sweet, like in this thread.

http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=85200

My fear was that people might missuse use this thread, thats all. But my post was stupid and did not reflect that correctly. I am sorry for that.

Still, please make a list like in the Thread about Ports/Conversions.
This would make it way more organized and more future proof.

Torti; out

PS:i I love you all; and EAB is near and dear to my Heart. I never want to hurt anybody.

Never ! (T_T) Smurfs dosent like that; but they also make mistakes sometimes.

No Smurf is perfect. I am working on it tho, i promise !

Up to now, these contributions have been very different in nature (not always a piece of software), I am not sure it would help much.

Maybe you should convene a meeting which would include Papa Smurf and a couple of Ewoks, I heard they're resourceful regarding this matter .

Seems people have forgotten to mention on the biggest / longest work on Amiga collections available; and free.

It's not about boasting. I don't earn money with my GOALnew project and I'm anonymous here, people don't even know my name. It's just a pity that people don't use GOALnew, simply because they don't know it exists. That's why I want to advertise it more.

Read above, Torti made amends for the use of self-indulgent to qualify your decision to advertise GOALnew project. Plus, you made the effort to contact Dino Dini about it. Why would any of us be against it ?
