What is this font?
As many know, The Chart Show in the 80s used Amiga graphics and Workbench windows for their info boxes.
I'd like to know what font is being used in the text boxes in this screenshot from 1988? The title bars are Topaz, but the text in the boxes is slightly larger (size 10 or 11?). I thought it was maybe a larger version of Topaz, but user Clenched kindly provided a screengrab of Topaz at different sizes and it's def not that font. Note the 'e' has an upcurled tail. The 'y' and 'g' have quite strange tails. The 'r' doesn't have such an overeach as the one in Topaz The 'G' and 'J' are quite distinctive. The 'T' has serifs on the top bar, but not at the base (compare it to the T in Tour on the title bar, which has serifs at the top and bottom). The '!' is 1 pixel thin, not as fat and cartoon-like as the Topaz one. Any ideas what this font is? Didn't DPaint come with some fonts? Could it be one of those? |
