Seems that this it’s now a reality. My PiStorm32 just got dispatched today from AmigaKit. They were the cheapest by far too, just £79.99.

@alexh @DDNI
Thank you for your orders- our technician assembled, flashed and tested them. I hope you enjoy using the PiStorm32-Lite once they arrive. |

My Pistorm32 lite from Amigakit arrived yesterday too. I wasn't expecting it so fast (less than 48hrs). I'll try and get the A1200 set up this weekend.

Thanks for letting us know it arrived safe and sound. We have built, tested more Pistorm32-Lite boards and sending out today to our customers that have pre-ordered.

All U.K. preorders of Pistorm32-lite have been assembled in house and sent out this week. Most USA and Canadian orders have been fulfilled too

Hi amigakit.com. I've just placed an order for one (a PiStorm32-lite) here in New Zealand. Looking forward to it, as my A1200 is completely stock! (i.e. the onboard 2MB Chip only). I think this will be a great upgrade for it.

What would be ultra cool would be a pistorm32 lite with an integrated 4mb fast expansion that kicks in when when the rpi is disabled. A good way to have a compatible amiga for whdload and other stuff until emu68k is more mature.

I had thought about this exact same option and asked the developer whether that would be a feasible option, but he said it's not as easy as it sounds to implement it.

Just a clarification point that I haven't been able to find for some reason...
Is there a difference between a Pistorm32 and a Pistorm32-lite? |

The lite is a re-deigned-for-available-parts-now version. I have one and highly recommend it. Whether the non-lite version will be released, or modified then released, is yet to be seen. |

I get mine next week, hopefully, are there any recommendations for cabling to the rear and maybe a 3d printed adapter for the rear port ?

I got my "Awaiting Dispatch" email today after intentionally just hitting order and forgetting about it because I didn't want to obsess over how long it might take. So since my Amigas haven't really been setup since moving house back at the end of 2021, I dug the 1200 out this evening only to find bent pins and a knackered CF drive.
After booting all my CF's in FSUAE on my Mac to determine they were fine I eventually diagnosed a dead IDE adapter in the 1200. I've got it working with one that is internal only and was about to order a replacement when I realised that the PiStorm32 Lite has the option to use the internal SD card instead of CF. But there seems to be precious little info on this! What is the performance like vs. the internal A1200 IDE? Better I presume? Is there any way (aside from networking and USB) to get files on and off without removing the card? Can a FAT partition be mounted and access over SSH and by the Amiga? Or am I dreaming there? Just wondering what my options are and whether I need to spend on a new right angled IDE adapter which seem to be about 20 quid at the moment. Not the end of the world but I don't want to waste 20 quid if I don't need to. The world is wasting my money for me quite happily as it is without the Amiga helping! |
