On my monitor with 50 Hz Vsync (VRR off) I get an evenly flickering interlacing without hiccups. if producing scrolling hicups, of course also produces interlace screen hiccups. There is the same principle behind it, except that the same lines are overwritten in one and offset in the other.
If you have frame pacing problems in general, it's no different with interlace.

It is important to note that when it comes to VRR and Vsync, the settings in the emulator are only half the battle. If there are problems with the graphics drivers or unfavorable settings, the emulator cannot compensate for this and one quickly assumes a bug in the emulator.
The classic example is to get smooth PAL scrolling on a standard monitor with hardware Vsync but not to know that the monitor has to be set to 50 Hz outside the emulator. To make this easier, there are monitor profiles in Denise. Here, when switching to fullscreen, the monitor can not only change the resolution, but also the refresh rate. This saves the manual change in the graphics driver.
The Emu switches back to the old resolution and refresh rate when switching back to the window.

Another example under Linux is the use of 2 monitors in the dual monitor setup if both monitors do not run the same refresh rate.
The hardware Vsync no longer works properly. The emulator can't solve this because hardware Vsync blocks the display outside the emulator.

What I could imagine is that the old D3D9 under Windows 11 actually doesn't get VRR.
I'm currently putting together another computer with Windows 11. I will be able to test it in a few weeks.
But there is no reason to use D3D9 for VRR. in the context of emulation, the added value of D3D9 to openGL is a more stable hardware Vsync.
But that doesn't matter at VRR. In addition, without using hardware Vsync, the input lag is reduced by 20 ms(PAL). This is another advantage of VRR.
To make sure that no error has crept in during the last changes, I tested VRR again under Windows 10 (Nvidia + G-Sync Compatible Monitor)

Note: Denise only uses hardware Vsync at the moment. software Vsync is planned.

Test results:
D3D9:
window and fullscreen mode: Hz isn't moving in OSD (fixed, no VRR)
exclusive fullscreen: Hz is moving a few Hz only (good frame pacing)

openGL
window + fullscreen: Hz is moving a few Hz only (good frame pacing)

Compared to RetroArch (VRR) the Hz display in the OSD jumps only very slightly.

the best way to use your "Denise" even if not working as i would becuase script for denise are very complicated. However as it uses various personal config files it's ok to put games in frontend and use it easily.

what really miss in Denise in integrated frontend like MAME. you load every C64 and Amiga games from a directory and run them with default config. I think that Denise could be the new MAME for C64 and Amiga.

some games that have 2 or more disk, i can mount in this way, but when i double click on disk 1, Denise close or crash

No prob., I misunderstood because we talking about Amiga only here.
(but on C64 part paste function works fine, as was mentioned = tested! ... hmm, not sure how copy works? is there need to select something? it seems to copy every text from the C64 screen)

I cannot get cannon fodder to load the second disk. It does seem like it is reading, but the game never starts

Any clue about what is happening when using a1000 configuration?. I use the proper kickstart rom and the external(cloanto roms), but there is always a black screen. I tried on another a1000 roms, but none of these seem to work in either pal or ntsc.

Don't cloanto roms have a key that needs to go with encrypted rom? (not all, just some of them)

Yeah, that rom is the one that supposedly goes to the second box in the firmware tab of the emulator. I have tried also other roms(non cloanto), but got the same resutl, a black screen.

I have no idea about encrypted roms. Is this something I can/should emulate?
For A1000 the 8k boot rom is needed to load the KS disk into the WOM memory.

OS do you intend AmigaOS? I use A500 config with kickstart 1.3

i updated to latest build a now it works the drag and drop of a single file zip including two or more disk. However if i launch the zip file from front-end Denise close itself

using Denise standlone it working now with drag & Drop zip files including various adf files. Not working some games if i launch from a front-end, but i think it depends for relationship between Emulator and front-end.

i was thinking why launching emulator from a front-end there are some compatibility problem with some games that run good with drag and drop or using "load software".

confirmed, a ZIP file from frontend or command line makes problems. will fix it

Which version did you use?

I checked with:

Cannon Fodder (1993)(Virgin)(Disk 1 of 3)[cr CSL] ... won't load the 2nd disk even on WinUAE! (or the 2nd disk is bad!?)

Cannon Fodder (1993)(Virgin)[cr FLT](Disk 1 of 3) ... no prob. with this one!

(used config: A500 1.3 ECS 512 + 512)
