World Rally Championship
I was just wondering does anyone remember this game from the arcade?
I personally loved this game and always wondered if it was available for the Amiga. Of course it isn't [ Show youtube player ] But I do wonder is it even possible? Does anyone even know if there was plans for it to be released on another platform other than arcade machines? I'm sure the Amiga could so something like this since I discovered Rally Championships is a game on the Amiga which I intend to get more familiar with as it does seem similar in style and on my first go this afternoon not a kick in the arse of the game I mention above. I did used to play Power Drive back in the day but the controls are so hard. I believe I got that game as it also reminded me of World Rally Championship. |

There are some very similar games for the Neo Geo so playable on a Pi etc or Windows under emulation, Neo Drift Out, Overtop but like the one you have linked they suffer from the lack of visibility, nightmare seeing what's coming!
I prefer Neo Geo Thrash Rally which is a directly overhead view but still similar gameplay but with this one the cars are smaller so it's easier to play and less annoying. Power Drive does indeed have odd controls, like they are delayed or it doesn't self centre quick enough. Had the odd go on the Amiga, played it more on the Jaguar. |

Another one was Jalecos hot chase. I could have sworn it had an amiga port. But it seems not. Wonder if the miggy could handle it.

I remember a whole family holiday was spent playing this arcade in a hotel in Majorka! The steering wheel for control was perfect as you could turn it excessively to get round the bends. Me and other kids in the hotel were always trying to beat each others results. The made a model Celica for this game and digitised it! Pretty cool. |

1000 Miglia, which is very similar, is one of my favourite arcade games (it also has a sequel, Millie Miglia 2).
There is a 1000 Miglia game on Amiga, but it's a completely different racer, more of a first-person sim. |

For years I knew of the game Toyota Celica Rally on the Amiga and I always thought it was this game World Rally Championship because of the Toyota Celica you drive but Of course I was wrong
![]() Weird the only 1000 Miglia is a "behind the car" racing game. You mean that looks a little like World Rally Championship? |
