CDTV keyboard to PCKey1200...
Hi, I got an CDTV keyboard recently which I want to connect to my DBox (w/PCKey 1200).
I searched a lot before I post here but didn't find 100% the accurate conversion. I know for sure (from websites+BBOAH) that the PS2 connector of CDTV pinout is this: - 1: Ground - 2: Data - 3: Clock - 4: +5V - 5: Unused - 6: Unused What is the correct rewiring for me to perform in order to make it work? I found an article about CDTV to CD32 rewiring... Quote:

I thought the cdtv keyboard is same pinout as an a4000 keyboard ???
both use a 6pin mini din, the CD32 is different as it also has serial signals in its AUX port |

The CD32 keyboard & A4000 Pin out are identical & according to the BBoAH the Interface can accept PC or Amiga Keyboards, I think you just need to mod the wiring as you've stated from CDTV to CD32 & it should be fine. & use a std PS/2 to 5 Pin Adapter (PC type is fine)

Thanx mate, I'll try the rewiring that I wrote once I receive the keyboard and will report back.
TheCorfiot is right though. In BBoAH the pinouts for CD32 and A4000 are identical so I think it will work. |

Of course the A4000 does not have the serial connections as my good friend Zetro pointed out. I would dig a little deeper regarding the CDTV mod to CD32, pin out, check out Finger's thread (see at bottom of this screen), he seemed to acomplish the mod by just resiting 1 connection??? Importantly though just don't get the +5V/Gnd connections wrong, other misconnections will not cause damage but +5V to the KB on the wrong pin could fry it. BTW why not use a nice modern Cheap PC Keyboard seeing as you have the Interface converter? |

Just for informational purposes...
The rewiring that I read and performed works like a charm... Just rewire 1 with 4 and 2 with 3 on the keyboard connector (inside of keyboard) and you're done. |
