WHDLoad Epic AGA - WHDownload version - freezing prob

Hi guys, hope we're all well.

Anyone have any ideas about my problem with Epic - you open it, get that orange icon appear on screen, then dissappear, then reappear - and we're frozen. From what I dimly remember it should then have said "additional memory available" or similar, then have started with the nice intro music.

It's running on the 060 1200 - clocked at 50mhz - 128meg fast. I've tried nocache and nofastmemcache having looked round the boards - but no luck.

Anyone have any ideas? I guess it might be the 060. Or if anyone can point me to the hard disk installable version (came with the A600hd pack I seem to remember) and I'll try that instead.

I am running it through WHDLoad using slave 1.3
All seems well on my 060 A1200T (except that the game is a dog!)

Hmmm interesting. I'll maybe try the download again- you using the one from whdownload? If I can't get it working after redownload, is there any chance I could grab a copy of yours for testing purposes? It's about the only whdload prob I've had on this Blizzy.

WHDownload.com just hosts the unpacked KGWHD packs, so it is the same. Nonetheless good luck that it works this time

Ahhh nevermind, I'll look another day. Tried clearing chipmem, running without Scalos, it's not having it. Bizarre, especially since it works with DDNI's config. DDNI, do you use the ClassicWB? (I'm using advsp).

Try booting with no startup sequence and see if that works, might be something loaded in your startup sequence that affects WHDLoad.

HI all - sorry to raise an old thread - but just happened to try again to fix Epic on my blizz 060. Turns out that it was specifically the blizz 060 causing the freeze - booting with card disabled allowed (horrifically slow obviously due to 2m chip) booting the game. I then reactivated the card and after a bit of research used NoMMU tooltype - game warns that it probably won't work due to mem remapping, then works :-D Don't know why you had no issues with your blizz, DDNI - still nvm - anyone has probs like that use NoMMU.

raising with old thread again,

Epic would freeze at the symbol screen, on an 040

add the following to tooltypes

NOCACHE
NOVBRMOVE

works perfectly

On my 040 (APollo) I`ve only to set NOCACHE. No need for NOVBRMOVE.
