yes, if you have 0 energy. And at the last race you get a game over but it doesn't matter since the game is over either way.

I can't commend you enough for your work jotd! Looks and plays great! Here's an idea, dunno if possible tho: could you add some kind of colour cycling to the waters? If it's not much work, I think it'd liven up the place

Edit:
Regarding the music, Black Viper has music+fx and the tunes are great, maybe check if those are 3ch and could be adapted more easily?

Alright had a Jam session with Lotus 1,2,3 and Super Cars 2. And this is how it sounds. All mods a 4 channel so there is audio cut when sfx are enabled. Meh it is what is is

Would be nice to use the Lotus II - R.E.C.S. Megadrive music but its in mp3 :/

Phx ptplayer makes it possible to have 4-channel + sfx sounding not too bad.

I added 6 Lotus 3 tracks, decreasing the volume a little bit, and it sounds okay, specially in the easy level where there aren't too many explosions . Now music selection is 1) no music 2) saimon tunes 3) Lotus 3 (which has the best in-game tunes IMHO but I could add Lotus 1 too in the mix)

Anyway, cheap & easy change. Let's do it.

yes, it's a logical move. Supercars (the first) also comes to mind but the files aren't modules (Ben Daglish)... too bad as they're probably 3 channel...

Didn't roondar create a really cool, and fast audio mixer that allows channels to be mixed realtime so you can end up with 6 channels in total?

It even has a 020 optimised version too. Maybe the samples will need some tweaking but this might be a nice addition too?

If it's not too much hassle that could be interesting. The game trashes A4 in the blitter interrupts (and also expects it to be pointing on a blitter list), so I had to adapt some parts of the phx replay. Also it runs on CIA interrupts which is very good for this game.

Maybe it can be used on other games more easily.

Excellent recolored work!

But this is the type of racing games that looks awesome until... it reaches the gameplay, its a top down style instead an Outrun style one,

The lotus tracks work well with it. Up beat and gets you in the mood to play.

If you could have both tracks from lotus and saimon69 and have a choice on splash screen would be ideal.

@masteries it's a matter of taste Me neither, I don't like top down racing games except for the supercars series and maybe skidmarks (if that counts).

BTW I have the source code for Lotus 1. Maybe an AGA version at some point ? wink wink.

@ransom1122: yes, I have implemented it. Will release it in a few.

Thanks again for this jotd, great work.

Looking forward to playing it with Lotus tracks, sort of make it's feel more official coming from other MF games.

We could even ask Jotd to make some post-nuclear or new wave circuits so it will fits, in fact the idea of cars shooting stuff at each other is very post-nuclear or utopic - we will have Hokuto no supercars :P

Lotus 1 was a 16 color no DPF game so at least if you can push 32 colors and have cars of different tint will be an improvement

I'm pretty sure that the game code is very similar to Supercars 2 code.

If it's 16 colors it means that it can be made 32 colors without making it AGA? I don't know about this game. We'll see.
