HD Install field (various games)
The following games are all HD installable out of the box:
PGA Tour Police Quest 2 The Colonel's Bequest Syndicate Formula One Grand Prix (Microprose) Campaign Theme Park Worms Knights of the Sky BTW, how does the HD Install field work for games such as Skidmarks, where the main program disk is HD installable but the track disks are not? How about for certain other games where you can copy the disk contents across to HD (and maybe make a few assigns), but there is no 'official' HD installer included on the game disks? Frontier is like this and is marked as HD installable, so I presume this is OK? Anyway, all the examples I mention above had installers included with them

Thanks for the info.
The HD Install data is quite incomplete at the moment and we also don't distinguish between 'no' and 'unknown' (this should be fixed sometime in the future). Where a game is installable by any normal method (except for WHDLoad) we'll mark the entry HD Install = Yes. Then the notes can be used to specify the method e.g. "installer on disk 1", "Copy disks to HD and make assigns" etc. |
