Can I use a Data Selector and connect 2 external Floppy Drives to my A500?
There is a retro shop that has all sorts of data selector boxes (single knob in front, selecting A, B, or even C on some models): They are serial and parallel versions.
I am trying to connect my 2 external floppy drives connected at the same time, and be able to (with a twist of a knob), switch between DF1 and DF2 for example. Please let me know if this possible! Thanks! |

Yes, you could modify the data selector to take a 23 pin d connector..
Another possibility is to make a sel1<->sel2 boot selector socket and plug that under your CIA chip. |

You wouldn't be able to "switch between DF1 and DF2", since they both would be DF1, just one at a time. Plus there's always a risk of releasing the magic smoke, if you flip the selector by mistake when the computer is powered... |
