Apollo 040
Hi there folks, i purchased an Apollo 1240 some time ago but i didn't have the time to test it properly till now.
Now, after some days testing software i've found a couple of issues. First one has to be related with the OS i think, because some of the demos i tried to run (FPU only) didn't start at all, sending me a message like "get an FPU you shithead" XD. Well, if i type the CPU command on a shell window, it doesn't drop me any 882 report... However SysInfo detects the FPU as available. As i said, some demos will use the FPU and some others just will not detect it at all. I noticed about the second problem after messing around with SysInfo and reading some posts, my 1240 33mhz drops a performance of 1,12 times a 040 25mhz, so numbers don't match here. I've stated it IS a real and complete 68040 at 33mhz, but it does perform like a 040 at 28mhz... How is this???? Maybe the mainboard revision (1D4) has something to do here? How could i fix both problems? Cheers! |

Frakk! Fable you got it, it was just the installed 68040.library version...
I've replaced it for the one coming in the WB3.1 disks and i got 24,65 mips... And GOT THE 882 REPORT using the CPU command.... GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR it was so SIMPLE!!!! Thank you for the interest and help guys. FILE CLOSED |
