A600 Custom RF shield?
A600 portable project.
I'm looking to replace the original RF shield top half of my A600 with a thicker metal plate, 300x100x1mm or so. This is to have something sturdier to fasten the L-brackets to that are to hold the lower half of the LCD screen hinge. Normal sheet metal will do, I guess? It's either that, or I put some metal on the inside of the plastic case. The Joytech 8" screen has a nice and firm hinge, very good. But I'd rather not put the stress on the plastic case, as that would probably give a crack in it sooner or later... The solution I have to come up with atm is how to fasten the RF shield replacement _solidly_ inside with a minimum of fuss. Bend the sides at right angles and make screw holes in the original lower half of the RF shield? Any advice appreciated! Last edited by Photon; 04 July 2009 at 00:38. Reason: changed an adjective, actually! |
