A1200 IDE not working after 3.2 ROMS Installed

Hi, Since I have installed my 3.2 Roms, I have not been able to successfully boot my A1200 on a regular basis.

I may get one boot to workbench in 20, the rest of the time it will boot to the kickstart screen.

I have tried a new card reader and a new CF card and it will not even show in the early start up sequence. I have also installed an old IDE HDD drive and this is also not found.

If I put my old ROMS back in, the Amiga boots fine.

Any ideas?

Why even bother with 3.2 ?
(dont get me wrong, every new Amiga Hard&Software is great)

But i have seen so much trouble people have with with 3.2.
Is it really worth it for a system you only want to play games on ?
In my oppinion. No.

3.2 makes only sense in an RTG Amiga imho.
Besides, 3.2 is so much bigger than 3.1/3.5/3.9.

Just take my setup for an example.

If i would install 3.2,everything would be take much longer and it would fill my amiga with Stuff i would not need.

I would even go so far as to say " it would be a downgrade"for me.

(a upgrade for RTG systems and unnesesary for classic systems imho)
A OS3.1/3.5/3.9 can handle 8GB with PFS3 and that should be way more than ever needed.

Anyhow, i dont want to spoil the fun for everyone, this is just my oppinion.

But i have seen so much of this.... poor Amigas

(ups, wrong video, but it dosent matter. he is trying for over a month to upgrade all of his amigas with 3.2. A pool of problems arise )

Why even bother ? because of the new window resize ? Well......

Anyway, it just my oppinion.

Yours,Torti

Ha, you have made yourself clear. For me, 3.2 makes a lot of sense.
For one, it now completely covers all them menu entries with keyboard shortcuts. A second thing is the intuition dialog has been updated to show which application is preventing it from changing resolutions.
You can skip installing Glow Icons (which I do as I prefer MagicWB). So basically if you have 2mb or greater ram in your system, this is an upgrade for you if you use workbench at all! Now, if all you do is boot into OCS/ECS/AGA games, or demos qnd maybe just have a launcher for them, then clearly there is no reason to upgrade. But I would not say it isn't for just RTG systems.

Also, it is getting harder and harder to find hard drive decives that are not larger than 2gb... so having that support out of the box is VERY useful!
