I'd love to think that those videos were something other than someone just spending an inordinate amount of time creating some pre-rendered sequences on Maya/3d max/some 3d package, but somehow I doubt that's the case.
EDIT: Unless I've completely misinterpreted the point of the videos, is it just meant to be some 3d animations or is the author implying that there's an actual game being made ? |

they are just renders. Nice work for an amateur of course (I certainly couldn't do better), but don't go as far as calling it Turrican!

The movement of those walker bosses is just terrible. It should ballance on one leg then on another, not just to float through the air and move its legs. Although I dont like the design of the "main character", his movement looks good. Except for the weapon, which seems to be made out of polysterene.

Not really. Remember that the words amateur and professional don't say anything about quality, they only tell you that one doesn't earn a living with it, while the other does.
That said, there are amateurs who can beat this stuff into a pulp, hands down, and it's usually the amateurs with great skill who enter the industry Anyway, have you seen how Turrican jumps? Holy hell |

Well, AllVisionDE claims, this is footage of the cancelled Turrican3D. They were the company, that got hired for 3D stuff, obviously.
Compare the screens: http://www.nemmelheim.de/turrican/of...ame=turrican3d Not convinced? Look at the old PC Action Video: [ Show youtube player ] from 1:58 on. Compare it to the boss video: [ Show youtube player ] (From 0:00 on - the bridge scene) So much to amateurs. We are talking N64 graphics. The jump is ridiculous, indeed. xD If you want to see amateur renderings connected to Turrican, I recommend watching Turicon - The Legend of Sollthar! [ Show youtube player ] |
