PSX DualShock controller progress RUMBLE FEATURE WORKING! !
Hi,
We are making great progress with the PS/2 DualShock to Amiga adapter. We now have working: Both fire buttons (Battle Squadron is awesome to play with a DualShock). Autofire. Rapidfire (like autofire but much faster). We got the rumble feature working!! The rumble feature needs fine tuning, and we'll be working on that this week. At the moment it is sound activated but we only want it to trigger on low frequency explosion type sounds. As soon as we get that sorted we will be moving to the PCB design stage. http://i43.tinypic.com/29bknlj.jpg |

Circle = Fire1 Cross = Fire2 Triangle = Autofire on Square = Autofire off L1 = RapidFire on R1 = Rapidfire off Something that just occurred to me - I might also do: L2 = Rumble on R2 = Rumble off Forgot to mention this model is aimed at A500/600/1200 we will be bringing a seperate model out for the CD32. |

A low pass filter should be enough to activate a FET for the rumble feature if that's the way you're planning to go.

There's a bit more to it than that though, both on the analogue and digital side. The firmware I've written for the PIC16F628A looks for a logic level on one of the IO pins before it sends the relevant control byte to the PSX controller. |

Like I said a few messages ago, CD32 support will be introduced in a later model.
Is that something you would be interested in? BTW here's a sneak peek of the circuit board so far: http://i41.tinypic.com/2mgzs7.jpg Last edited by Mounty; 22 July 2013 at 19:12. |

Without doubt - I have a couple of adapters already, but I know one at least is faulty so I would certainly take an interest in buyingif the price is right and the functionality there...
Personal opinion - cd32 support mode is a must for any psx /ps2 adaptor, even if you are targeting a500/a600/a1200... Look how many whdload games are having cd32 controls added! I also think there should be serious consideration given to a mouse control option - one of the adapters I have does this already and makes things an absolute joy (pardon the pun) for general gameplaying.... |

Just what exactly does the mouse control function do? I'm assuming that it somehow lets you control the mouse with the joystick. Would that be using the analogue sticks? How are the buttons mapped? The more info you can give me the more I can do.

Pretty sure both analogue and digital controls worked as the mouse, with x for lmb and circle for rmb... There was a mouse speed option but I forget via what.... Left/right shoulder maybe?
I guess there's room in there for centre mouse button on triangle or something too!! V.impressed with the potential rumble control btw! |
