SSD on Amiga 1200 issues

Right before we start - I sont want to put a CF card in for ease.... I dont have one big enough (All I have is 128mb!) - so please dont just say `Use a CF card...`

Ok - I want to put SSD or of types, on my 1200, due to I have MANY spare.

Options:

60gb Spinner - SATA, connected via 44pin PATA to SATA adapter
60gb SS - SATA - using the same adapter

128gb M.2, on a m.2/44pin PATA adapter.

All drives are set up with Zebs WHDloader install, and all work in Winuae.

Non are seen by the Amiga.

the Amiga IDE DOES work - as the 3.5 40mb spinner works ok on it - but I cant shut the case properly!

3.1 Roms
Apollo 1240 Accelerator with 8mb - but SW is NOT installed yet - I cant get that far!

Any suggestions - other than CF card ?

What exactly does that mean?

Did you check with HDToolbox?

Did you Ctrl-A-A and check again?

Did you try without the Apollo?

How did you connect the drives to your WinUAE PC?

Did you use DiskPart to clean the drives before you used them in WinUAE?

You need to prepare that kind of drive outside of the Amiga with winuae and modern hdtoolbox (I use Amikit to do that). Pay attention to the proper geometry of the drive. I check if with any partition manager tool inside windows and then enter them manually in hdtoolbox on the winuae side. I use flawlessly 128 GB ssd in my A4000 and A1200 native ide.
Of course you need on the real Amiga side support for big drives with proper scsi.device.
Still necessary to have your boot partition inside the 4 GB limit.

kickstart screen for floppy shows - not booting. I tried the double mouse button start too - drive not shown there either

Many reboots - and yes tried that

Did you try without the Apollo?
yes

How did you connect the drives to your WinUAE PC?
As all drives have Sata - I use an external caddy to mount them in

Did you use DiskPart to clean the drives before you used them in WinUAE?
yes

this is Zeb`s WHDload file - exact image I created from that - that works find on my A500, - Micro SD card - via IDE adapter on a TerribleFire 536
So I`m sure that the image/drive is ok?
