HELP: Opus5, KingCON, SysInfo.library (Sysmon.library) triangle
Need help, ideas, what ever.
Running DOPUS5 in WB replacement mode, If I install SysInfo.library 2.0 the system works as I expect it (KingCON drag & drop), but the CPU meter is not working properly. If I install SysInfo.library 2.2, that in turn loads Sysmon.library 1.20 and the CPU meter works great, but, but, but, now I loose KingCON drag and drop function :-( (It's like it looses focus on workbench) If I startup Workbench in parallel to OPUS5, then every KingCON console starts to accept drag and drop icons from OPUS5. So, is there something wrong with Sysmon (Config ?), SysInfo or KingCON? Or where to look, what to patch, to get them all working together? |

if you have doubts about KingCon, you can try ViNCEd or Conman which are both such con replacements. maybe one of them works better.
If you want test latest ViNCEd you need an older version of it, which you can find in the zone ( VincEd368.lha and VincEd366.lha ). Edit: above ViNCEd link was latest version for WB1.3 - final or (most) latest is ViNCEd 3.73. Last edited by emufan; 25 February 2014 at 01:33. |

ViNCeD 3.91 is working here, but I don't like it as default shell. One of the other options left is to temper with the code for sysinfo.lib or dopus5, both are available in source form. But in the end it might be something else that is in conflict with something else too.

it was just a wild guess
above you mention workbench - did you tested the patched workbench.library by PeterK? you need the workbench.library v45.127 from BoingBag-1 to apply the patch. not sure at all, if opera is using this library - again a shot in the dark |

Looking at DOPUS5 sources where it is calling the sysinfo.library, and still have no clew as to why it fails. Need to compare sysinfo.lib sources from Executive and SysMon, maybe they do something fishy there.

DOpus5 can live without sysinfo.library. Do you can? Think about if you really need Executive. It just introduce incompatibility. Alternatively use a CPU meter that works and doesn`t need so much resources.

That's the problem, the best one is SysMon, and it works great.
Just for some reason WB needs to be started first, not OPUS5, otherwise KingCON looses focus on Drag&Drop icons in OPUS5. |
