.. on and on and ..

Hi!

Just a few updates:
The project has got a proper Download page too:
https://electricblacksheep.itch.io/projecthorizon
With that we can manage future updates in a correct way. The actual version will always be there and when the time comes the finished game as well.

changes:
- All reported bugs (i hope) fixed.
- gfx: The moon surface (and some other) has one plus color so it has a bit less contrast and visible dithering. The green nazi soldier has been redrawn He got a scuba tank.). etc.
- Some extra sfx (older ones needed resampling too).
- The "engine" has been updated with new features (animation, tile-types, etc.). Since yesterday it can handle dark stages where the muzzle fire can add you some light.

This game has style to spare and one that I look forward to the most. It reminds me a lot of the post-Commodore period and Vulcan Software games on CD like Uropa2 and FinalOdyssey.

A couple of questions: Will the animation seen in the trailer be present in the finished game?
Are you planning a box edition?

Sure, but the quality will be lower (still 120mb).

I think i already said, but try to refer to the vacuum sequences of dead space on how to do more convincing sound effects in the void for the intro

How did I miss this?
This is AMAZING!

Really like the unique style.
How the sprites were created? Using 3D app - rendering, then cleaning?
Or just pure drawing?

Keep up the great work!

I used rendering for the making of the astronaut character and cleaned everything in Deluxe/Personal Paint for the same16 color range!
The nazi's were first a simple recolor (of the astronaut) and then they get their head, armband, scuba, etc. painted manually (to look "different"). All the other aliens are handpainted.

The background is mostly handpaint but here and there (the LandingModule for example) is a simple Unity3D (or Sketchfab) screenshot from the given perspective (and cleaned).

..so it's a combination. Rendering could be really helpful, even if i just need simple baselines for something.

Going through the demo, seems all the reported bugs are gone.

But what I didn't find is the survivor message (that famous Tovarish quote, telling you to bring the buddy to the moon rover). Has it been removed?

Looking good. Considering getting the demo. I assume the screenshots with the "swastika-like" logos are from an "enemy base"?
