It's the PEGASUS (not programmer) development system
![]() look : About Factor 5 : "The "Pegasus development system", (PDS), a development system consisting of custom built hardware and custom assemblers and tools, which they started to work on in 1987, is later adapted to the Atari ST and in 1992 implemented on Super Famicom/Super Nintendo and Mega Drive. |

I have been looking for information about the Pegasus Development System recently but there are very few serious articles about it which pop up through Google searches. There seems to be a little more data on the SNES version, with even an apparent unit popping up in an Ebay auction a few years ago, although it's hard to determine if it was a fake or a real device.
The auction:http://www.ebay.com/itm/PEGASUS-SNES...779?rmvSB=true. An article about it with pictures:http://www.gamesniped.com/2011/07/10...velopment-kit/. Factor 5 themselves seem to have only made very sporadic public references to their system. It's a bit of a shame since any remaining unit could possibly be put to good use by retro-programmers. ![]() In any case, it's pointless to speculate for now since no unit has surfaced yet and it's very possible that Factor 5 destroyed them when they stopped developing for the Amiga. I sometimes contemplate contacting Achim Moller or Julian Eggebrecht to ask them about it but I have yet to do it. ![]() Last edited by Nekoniaow; 25 January 2015 at 06:10. Honestly, with the tools and hobbyist electronics available today, you are better off developing quickly your own interface, than trying to get PC equipment made for 1987 work.
