Handling a specific bootblock,
Hi guys,
So ross kindly coded this (custom ?) bootblock for Police Quest II, check it here which purpose is to make the game work on my 1 MB chip A500 with Gotek. Problem is, I have no clue about how to properly transplant said bootblock. I assume I should add (append ?) it to the first floppy of the Vision Factory cracked version, but how exactly am I supposed to do that ? I downloaded Amiga Bootblock Reader v5.0, hoping that I could use this tool to append ross' bootblock to an existing ADF. Unfortunately, it created a blank ADF, thereby erasing the content of the destination file. Additionally, I would like to know how to obtain the internal version of any given game. More specifically, I am thinking Colonel's Bequest internal version number from non TOSEC which differ from TOSEC internal versions number, presumably. |

See if disk 1 adfs in the Zone works.
I used HxD and simply copy/paste replaced the first 1024 bytes. |

I'm sorry to hear that ABR v5.0 did that for you. It is a number of years old now and has lots of bugs unfortunately
We are releasing a new version soon and is able to install a bootblock to an ADF without issue |

As this is not specifically documented, you can change the bootblock of a (non-extended) ADF with ADF-Workshop using the "Merge some files..." function.
Once the function has been launched, click on "Load file..." and select the target ADF Click again on "Load file..." and select the bootblock file (the file must have the .abb extension to be recognized) Click on "Process", which will merge the 2 files and save the new ADF under the name you want. |
