My picks are:
- Settlers
I still listen it to this day. That 14-15 min. medieval composition is a masterpiece for me. I even know how to play some parts on my synth, and enjoy playing it.
- Gloom
That dark-doom gothic (metal) industrial atmosphere inspire me today. Back then, when I started listening to some Gothic bands, and when Gloom was released, it was clear that creator of the song had listened similar music as I am.
- Cannon Fodder
Just awesome. And not that first song where lady sing, but the song from recruitment screen is the song I really adore.

There's many other songs that I really like, but above 3 are definitely my top.

I thought the music scores for "Gearworks" (AKA clik clak) were quite addictive at the time

Turrican
Xenon 2

Faery Tale Adventure (don't know if an audio CD exists)

I know this is a cheat .. but ... Vektor Storm. I always loved the intro/opening to that.

Sure, it is just samples, but do we get points for cool arrangements???

Gives me that Skate or Die! C64 intro feeling ..

That song is called Narcissus and when sung by Jon Hare himself it has even a lyrics.

Perhaps you guys can help me recall it.

There is in game music I have stuck in my head for years. It sounds very much like he same instruments and genre of music found in shadow of the Beast I & II soundtracks. I actually thought I found it when I was listening to the full soundtracks for both but nope.

Only this music I have stuck in my head is slower and a bit more somber - slowly building up almost theatrically with some orchestra strikes. Starts with the Pan flute instrument and keeps it during the entire score.

Any ideas? I've been reading through these lists for a clue and checking some out on YouTube but still come up empty.

I don't know if it's part of the same game I can't recall but I have a lot of fond memories of a Dragon game where you had to incubate dragon eggs on burners and different temperatures and times cooked made different kinds of dragons to battle with. I can't find that game either, they might both be one in the same.

EDIT: FOUND IT! Dragon's Breath! This is indeed the game and music - one of my favorites!

Another opportunity to mention G.n.i.u.s which rarely gets mentions and is frankly brilliant

Hybris of course

Turrican series Obviously

Jim Power also amazing melodies

Utopia title is particularly nice

Chaos Engine in game tunes are brilliant

Nice to see Damian has made his return to this forum

Thanks.
Never heard of this.
Now, that's the remake I really like.
Flute is a very nice touch (although, maybe some power strings (and heavier guitars ), would be even better)

Actually, I've heard a different version of Narcissus from Jon Hare, and I didn't really like it (that gently voice, and saxophone in this song, is really not conveying original for me, imho)
Let me try find it.., here it is...
