Same as the best OCS Amiga game ever, Lotus II, the finest 16bit racing games for people who had passed puberty on its release and compatible with the launch day Amiga 1000 of Summer 1985

One-disk games that I remember fondly, in no specific order:

Turrican 1-3
Lotus 1 and 2
Dungeon Master
SWIV and Silkworm
Moria (PD, Assassins disk 162)
Speedball 2
Phantasie 3
Faery Tale Adventure
688 Attack Sub
F-18 Interceptor
Starglider 2
Backlash
Battle Chess (2-player)
Battle Squadron and Hybris
Benefactor (great action puzzler from -94)
Bio Challenge
Blues Brothers
P.P. Hammer
Datastorm
Dogs of War (despite the tacky ST palette)
E-Motion
Into the Eagle's Nest
Gunship
Infestation
James Pond 1 & 2
Marble Madness
Millennium 2.2
Paradroid 90
Rick Dangerous
Roadwar 2000 (felt de luxe after the C64 version)
Rod-Land
Technocop
Tower of Babel
Virus
Warhead
Wayne Gretzky Hockey
Wings of Fury
Zany Golf
Worthy (well, this is a new one but it left a lasting impression!)

It was absolutely incredible that they managed to fit Turrican 2 and Turrican 3 on one disk. Even if those games took up 3 disks I think most of us would have found it acceptable. Most of us were playing 2 disk cracks of them anyway!

Does Thunder Boy make the cut for best single disk game? His attention to good attire, posture and a diet to enhance gut health remind me of some Americans.

But which one is the best? That is the impossible question asked. As per usual people start to post ever growing lists of games because that is our biggest hobby, but at least try to play by the rules
