Klawz the Kat
Hi all,
does anyone know where I can find the full version of Klawz the Cat by Grand Master Design? I have the demo version, which is the version here. I know it's featured on PG317 - KLAWZ but no idea if this is the full or demo version as can't find the disk. It's also listed as being on PD Soft 3550 Klawz 's babe has been kidnapped by the evil Billy Bender and his fiendish Robo-Dogs. Help Klawz rescue her in this demo-version game. Collect the objects and bash the dogs with a large wooden club. This amusing little game is colourful, amusing and addictive. Again no idea if this is the full version or demo as I can't find this either. Many thanks |

I found some other disks, but they're just alternatives from the PD distributors...
However, it can be seen that most of the files of the full version are still present on the demo disk ![]() Code:

Why do so many on the list have deleted on the right hand side, I thought that meant they aren't on the disk anymore? If the files are there could someone maybe do something to get this work? Last edited by qupe; 11 February 2020 at 21:44. |

![]() A few things I'm still a little worried about: Code:

So my guess is that these files are required for the "full" game i.e. a different game executable; in order to tell the program what to load etc...
Code:
!FIL-$19F | 127.856|00000000|??|KO|KO|1970.01.01 00:00|Lost | File sequence 1 lost | !FIL-$1E6 | 14.386|00000000|??|KO|KO|1970.01.01 00:00|Lost | File sequence 1 lost | !FIL-$258 | 8.816|00000000|??|KO|KO|1970.01.01 00:00|Lost | File sequence 1 lost | ...but they are slightly smaller than what was shown as "Lost"; and there's no way to tell what the <filesnames> should be. Anyway, that's all I can do to really help.... some expert would need to piece everything together ![]() |

Honestly, just yesterday I tried the version of the legendary Damien with all the levels in place but - they come to me a bit to say - I can't pass the first level, the game is really very difficult for me! : P
However I will try to do some practice, hoping to be able to improve and overcome sooner or later the first world (hoping that my effort is not in vain and loads the second world ...) |

I've completed the first five levels of Machine World (four normal levels and the robot boss). After a message asking the player to press fire, the game quits back to Workbench.

DamienD asked me to post this:
Thought I'd have another crack at "Klawz the Kat" ![]() There are 2 recovered boss files that I couldn't get to work without crashing the game: ... Rat [distroyed and missing data] ... Guitar [fully recovered, but for some reason doesn't work] I compared the above with the two other working boss files that we have, "Robot" and "Snowman"; in order to try to see if there was any pattern... After a day or so of trying various things, by some sheer miracle, I managed to get "Rat" working. It's missing data; so the colours / patterns are probably wrong, but at least it's playable ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() No such luck with "Guitar" though sadly; this one should have just worked, or been easy to figure out since it was fully recovered like "Snowman" was. I mean, I'm no coder, and resorting to using a hex editor, but I'm sure someone like ross could work it out... Anyway, a new "Klawz the Kat (1993)(Grand Master Design)[h DamienD][AMOS].adf" is now in The Zone! |

DamienD asked me to post this:
Tonight I managed to fix another bug that occurred in the restored files for "Sewer World" and "Toy World"; again by comparing "BLOCKS1.BIN" / "BLOCKS2.BIN" / "BLOCKS3.BIN" / "BLOCKS5.BIN" with a hex editor and finding a pattern ![]() The issue was that there was light pink around the enemies / shields in "Sewer World"; and lime green around the enemies / shield in "Toy World"... see restored vs fixed screenshots: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() That's probably about as far as I can fix this game now... A new file is now in The Zone! |
