Chris mentioned this on the discord chat... havent tried it as i am running Pi400

sound = HDMI Pi4/400 if you want 3.5mm and raspi-config isnt working?
edit or create the file /etc/asound.conf and change the card from 0 to 1 like this

sudo nano /etc/asound.conf

pcm.!default {
type hw
card 1
device 0
}
ctl.!default {
type hw
card 1
}

The card number can be confirmed with 'aplay -l'
usually card 1 is 3.5mm sometimes called headphones
card 0 is hdmi audio

you can change back to hdmi audio by replacing the card 1 with card 0 in both lines

Thanks for reply.

I have already seen that and make changes in asound.conf file but it doesn't work. I'll check it again today, maybe i make some mistake. You nicely explain which device is jack output so i'm curios that i have done it correctly before.

Doesn't "sudo raspi-config" work?

No, it doesn't work if I set output to jack 3,5 in raspi-config.

Success!

Thank you all, especially Jono1975. It all works now. I have edited asound file and and change output in raspi-config. I could enjoy the sound from my amplifier :-)

Send a message via ICQ to stainy Send a message via MSN to stainy
Volume can be turned up if too soft by typing
sudo alsamixer
and following the on screen instructions
