Phantaisie 3 trouble with WinFellow 1.3

Hi people I'm new to the board.
Thanks for keeping up this cool place

I've just installed WinFellow and was delighted to be able to play Phantaisie 3 again, everything was fine, my characters have reached level 5, and then when I started the emulator, it would give me the message 'can't read floppy 1' with option 'retry' or 'cancel. if I don't do anything it would keep on booting until I have the game menu, I click on loading a previously saved game but it goes black screen forever. Anyone can help ? I've lost hours of play

Thanks very much

Is WinFellow is giving you this message, or AmigaOS?

It sounds like your Phantasie 3 ADF may have become corrupt, eg. perhaps emulator was shut down while ADF was being written to.

Perhaps you could try DiskSalv or something similar on it...

Thanks Minuous

It is a AmigaOs message, something like reading error, would you happen to know were I can find stuff like DiskSalv or Diskdoctor ? and how to go to workbench ?

Have a nice day

DiskSalv is available from http://aminet.net/disk/salv/DiskSalv4.lha . (I wouldn't suggest using DiskDoctor as it can make the problem(s) worse.) Also http://aminet.net/util/arc/lha.run so you can decompress DiskSalv.

As far as going to Workbench, you'd need to get eg. a Kickstart 3.1 ROM image and Workbench 3.1 ADF, try googling for them.

thanks

Now WinFellow doesn't want to start anymore. Well it actually starts but remains an icon in the task bar, and refuses to spread out when I click on it....so strange...I'm running win xp in case this has something to do with the problem...

IIRC WinFellow has problems running OS2.0+, and various other issues, I'd suggest using WinUAE instead.

If ADF is corrupted nor DiskSalv nor Diskdoctor will help. In a distant past, when piracy was very popular in amiga world, there were many corrupted disk games copies on market, patched with X-COPY. On first sight, the disks were fine but the game was crashing (not instant, on second, third level or even later). Today's adf are in most from that time.
