Hello all
I am a reborn Amigan, having recently reacquired an Amiga 500 after regretfully letting go of my original some years back (though I kept many of my floppy disks!?). I now have an A500 with KS 1.2 on a Rev 5 board. Being a Canadian unit, it is of course NTSC. This does bug me somewhat, as I am originally from Australia, so my original A500 and games were/are PAL. So first on the cards...well...AFTER a thorough clean, recap, and diagnostic testing (Caps and Diagnostic ROM in the mail), will be an Agnus upgrade and Pin 41 grounding with (possibly) oscillating crystal switcheroo. Will possibly look at sourcing a KS 1.3 ROM as well. I love the idea of maintaining and using as much original hardware as possible. So not decided yet on further upgrades. Will definitely be acquiring more floppies and replacing missing games that I once had, back on to disk (which I believe is possible yes?). I will go the Gotek path as well however, as I do not trust that I will ever source enough floppies to fully restore my original library of games/programs. I will not, be cutting or drilling any holes into the case for switches etc. Original skin only for me. Cheers Nathan |

Nath: There were NTSC releases of your A500 games. How many originals did buy in Australia? Congratulations on making it to BC, I was too old (left my visa application too late) to get a working holiday visa for Canada.
Welcome to the forum . PAL NZ/AU A500 keyboard for the win . Are you using a CRT for video output?
