Dark/Dim Image from A1200

Hi guys, I got a replacement A1200 from eBay recently and when I plugged it into the TV via composite I got a picture but it was very dark/dim, I tried an RGB to Scart cable plugged into my Framemesiter I get a dark image still, the machine runs programmes fine, there is no sound distortion just the image is very dark. I am using a power supply from eBay which is rated for A500/A1200 and is the US model which is 110v, here in Japan we have 100v. If is the model that has a small LED display showing the voltage and time on. Is this something that might be related to the PSU or maybe CAPS, I took off the metal shielding, it had not been opened at all since 1992. There seems to be no leakage. Any help would be great.

Does it look like LCD with no backlight? It is possible that it's PSU related, or something is drawing too much current. I had a similar issue with my A1200 and a SD-WiFi card plugged into PCMCIA slot. When I booted the Amiga with the card plugged in, it looked like no video, but when I looked at certain angle, I saw workbench screen.
Reset did not fix it, I had to power off, remove the PCMCIA card, then turn it on.
It worked.
I'm suspecting that the SD card was puling too much current at bootup, but I could be wrong.
My power supply is new.
Check your power supply for correct voltages under load.
