and i bet even they still play better than their C64 equivalents.

you are sorely missing out on a great machine if the best you can find for it are a few lousey coin-op conversions, which according to your "law" (becuase it seems only your viewpoint counts right?) didnt even get ported well to the Amiga.

Move it to a C-64 vs Speccy thread.

btw: Your Captive vs Bloodwych fight isn't really better. Play decent RPG's instead, like Lands of Lore or Wizardy VII.

@Retro-Nerd

indeed, respects to bloodwych, its a great game, as are lands of lore and not sure about Wizardy VII, but i will agree with you...

but NONE of them could compare to the absolute awesomosity of CAPTIVE indeed its one of those games that when you do crack how to play.... will infest your being like a symbiotic virus.... and before you know know it you are after 8 hours solid play.... addicted, which could only be compared to a cocaine - crack addiction .... or Pringles 'n Haribo's *same difference*...

why would anyone want to drag up old-and-tired comments like "speccy vs c64" or "the speccy has only 4 colours" unless they had nothing better to do?

ooh.. right.

if you had said EOB or Dungeon Master, you might have had the start of a reasonable comment. I suspect those you mention are in the "console" RPG vein, as i've certainly never heard of them.

arguing captive with Bippy is ok, becuase he doesnt take it too seriously!

Gotcha Horace!!! Lands of Lore and Wizdrary VII are probably the best traditional PC RPG's ever. They got hightest ratings all over the world. Well, this shows me that you never seriously played RPG's.

Dungeon Master is great, a true classic. But EOB is only a mediocre hack & slay RPG, with over 30 monsters in one room, boring.

"gotcha horace"?

man you have some serious issues.

and when did i claim to have "seriously played RPGs"???

they are a genre i am NOT that interested in, which is WHY i put Bloodwych in such high-acclaim, as it can appeal to even the most normal of people. (simplicisty being a postive thing is apparently something you do not understand) - proabbly why i also enjoy EOB where you do not.

apparently if i have not played all the games 1000 times my opinion counts for nothing (again) - you are starting to sound like Ironclaw retro-nerd.

also if they are "PC" rpgs that explains it, as i have absolutely not interest in pc games at all. they cant be that good or i would have heard of ports to other machines at least, or even just heard of them as i have "hexx"

Everyone have heard about Lands of Lore or the Wizardry series, at least all seriously interested gamers back in time.

interested in some amiga ones, (afterall this is an amiga board) but only when recommended by those people who do not constantly dismiss everyone else opinion.

Captive (even Captive 2) i -like- but cant really get into very much, and the same could be said of EOB and DM for me.

Legend is in a different vein and i find that far more appealling.

But yes, i guess if you like i am largely just insterested in playing Bloodwych, since it plays so god damn well and is multiplayer that it beats all the competiton!

i wasnt aware that made me a bad person?
