Walker's BTTR Aid

In my opinion, BTTR is the best configuration source when you have trouble getting a game to run properly. There are a few gaps in the WinUAE configuration list though, and the purpose of this thread is to fill some of them. I know Bobic from BTTR visits this board now and then, so if he finds something he likes he can pick up the info here.

OK, we begin with "Aaargh!". Has anyone played this on a real Miggy? When you load the game in WinFellow the first "level" always is a head-to-head fight between the ogre and the lizard. BTTR lists the game as not working in WinUAE, but there are no comments about it. I got the game running in WinUAE 0.8.21 R3 using a ECS13 config with 2 MB chipmem and 1 MB slow mem. The strange thing is that when I pick ogre or lizard, the game is completely different from the one in WinFellow. Instead of the head-to-head fight, my character's goal is to burn down buildings while a catapult and giant mosquito-looking creatures are trying to stop me (check the screenshot below).
The second problem is that if I play as the lizard, my character is invisible. I can run around and torch stuff, but I have to "guess" where the lizard is located. Playing as the ogre works just fine....

Number two is "Battleships" from Elite. BTTR listing says "Freezes at intro". I got it running in WinUAE 0.8.21 R3 with an OCS12 config though (Blizzard crack).

Number three is "Cannon Fodder X-mas Special", available from an Amiga Format coverdisk. I don't know why BTTR has no config for it, but it works with WinUAE 0.8.21 R3 (ECS13 config).

Next one is "Champion Driver" from Idea. BTTR says "Crashes after intro", but the game works with WinUAE 0.8.21 R3 (ECS13 config).

Arrgh!

I only vaguely remember this game, from Arcadia I believe

Seems to me that it was a 1MB game, i.e., 512K chip and 512K slow/fast mem is how I remember it. Of course I'm probably wrong:eek

Now as for working on a real Amiga, not sure I have time to check. Could copy it over but I'm working on some TOSEC stuff right now

Bobic is VERY busy with other stuff (mainly private life), so he passed the "sceptre" to Bernd G. to reign () over BTTR from now on. I think Bernd can confirm this.

Doesn't the game work with an OCS13 config and the slow but more compatible box checked in CPU settings?

@Andreas
There might be a number of working configurations; I just posted the first one that I tried.

@Twist & Fissuras
I've been at work a lot the past week, but fortunately I didn't have to do much real work (just monitoring and doing minor installations) so I could process a lot of Amiga stuff. I think I slept about 4 hours per night in average, which is a bit low even with my standards!

Next one: "Combo Racer" from Gremlin.

"Freezes at title screen"? Not with WinUAE 0.8.21 R3 and an OCS13 config it doesn't!

Question

did you have screen-centering turned off with the latter one?
The screenshot looks a little bit ... uhmm ... edited.
If you turn centering on, the picture is shifted to the left by more than one inch, so a narrow part of the left margin is cut off (see here).

I noticed the bad centering, but didn't bother to change it since the purpose of the screenshot is to show that the game loads.
