WUAE 1.6.1 slow sound emulation from WB only

It's just me to have problems playing sounds through datatypes (SVX, WAV etc.) and audio.device from WB3.9?
Players and games are ok but datatypes from WB are played too slow and with serious stuttering problems.

Attached my cfg.

My crystal ball says you have RTG mode enabled + custom chipset modes programmed to non-PAL/NTSC mode. (which is known problem in 1.6.1)

("WB only" does not really mean anything useful..)

How should I set WUAE to test datatypes using correct timings?

Switch to standard PAL mode (not RTG, not dblpal etc..), there is something wrong if sound is still bad.

I've switched to PAL HiRes Laced 640x512 but samples through datatypes are still slow with stuttering....
Playing mods with DelitrackerII or WB games have correct sound timing.

Just did a quick test with some 8svx sample quickly downloaded from aminet. with 1.6.1b1 it sounds fine running through multiview with os39 datatypes. 1.6.1 final its all stuttery like rest of sound in my wb environment (rtg+31k video)

Perhaps you should read all replies first.. I did say programmed custom mode -> not working correctly in 1.6.1..

Can you reproduce it also with a PAL/NTSC WB mode?
I can.

Same problem with older versions? (you sure your samples are not too high for Paula DMA without doubled modes?)

I tested WUAE 1.5.3 and have the same problem... mmmh...
I tried to switch to DblNTSC 640x400 and played an SVX and the result is even worse. Sound gets played very slowly but pitch is too high, Chipmunks-like voice but in slowmotion

Attach example sound file and also include 8svx datatype version ("version full sys:classes/datatypes/8svx.datatype")

(I'd say this is not emulation specific but we'll see..)

Everything for the Amiga side is attached.
In the 1st msg of this thread you also have my cfg...

It's not limited to SVX anyway but happens also for WAV and other formats.

(Yes, it's possible but it's strange everything else like WHD-games, WB-games, DelitrackerII etc. play sounds perfectly)

Interesting...
If I drop it on DelitrackerII window the svx sample will be played perfectly...
Using Play16, C:PlayDT, Multiview or anything else instead results in horribly slow and hi-stuttering problems...

I downloaded youre sample hexaae, and I can reproduce the effect

If cpu idle slider is right down the sample is played back slowly. If cpu idle is 0 then sample plays back fine. Additional:- the same effect happens in Play16, but if output is set to ahi, then playback is fine regardless of cpu idle value.

Thank you Mad-Matt, you're right!
Keeping cpu idle slider to max -1 is ok too...
