I have an external floppy drive I'm not using. I use an External HXC myself.

Ok, nice! I have bought the adaptors but not a external floppy drive as of yet.
I will use the external gotek (maybe I will update firmware to HXC) only for getting stuff from the web to floppies. But it would be convenient if I could have both the external gotek and the external floppy connected at the same time. Will that be possible with your external floppy drive and the adapters above that I bought from amigastore, to have them connected at the same time? Do you have some photos and a brand name etc.? Thanks. |

The external floppy drive has a pass through for other external drives. This would make the Gotek DF2:. I honestly don't know if it would work this way as I've never tried it.

Here's the pics. It's a Power Computing drive 880. It reads and writes disks O.K. The 4 rubber feet are missing from the bottom of the drive.
It has disk copying hardware built in (software required) I'm looking for £30 + Postage. (weighs around a kilo) http://www.royalmail.com/price-finder Last edited by Arnie; 07 September 2016 at 15:50. |

I use an old Amiga External case.
I'm not sure how the disk copy works, there is some software that comes with the drive, but I haven't got it. X-Copy may work. Does anyone know what's needed to utilise the hardware copying part of this drive? There's an old thread here with some info... http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=35177 Last edited by Arnie; 13 June 2016 at 19:02. Reason: added info |

It wont be in the Zone now, the files only stay there for 60 days. There is a blitz copy on the EAB FTP under /TheZone/files/_2015/Blitz Turbo v1.3 (1991)(Power Computing).zip

Hi Vaninna,
It's all boxed up and ready for posting tomorrow. I have put an old floppy disk in the drive to protect the heads. The floppy disk is bad so don't try to format it and think the drive doesn't work |

Awesome, thanks! Thanks for the heads up-I almost ruined an internal drive by trying to format bad floppies...

Hey I got the drive now, but I think I need some help with setting it up.
It seems like it is "working" at the same time as the internal Gotek drive is "working". It speeds up and down sounding like a sewing machine. What should I do? It does not read disks. Edit. I am trying the drive with an A500 with internal floppy drive. No luck: DF1:BAD no matter what floppy I put in the external drive. Last edited by Vaninna; 21 June 2016 at 22:33.
