HrtMon - wish it has ...
I use it often for my gaming needs in conjunction with WHDload.
I noticed it has some problems with correct initialization of IDE interface (on A600 and CD32+Paravision recognized as A4000 etc). Can this be fixed? And could A3000 internal SCSI interface be added? Please.. |

Well, not gonna happen...
But the workaround is: hrtmon has built-in whdload load/save commands wl/ws that use whdload to restore the OS and access any device. BTW I'm looking for the most recent HRTMon version (file, not ROM). I'm missing "wi" command from mine. WinUAE built-in has it, but it fails to connect with whdload. |

Did you enter and exit hrtmon before running whdload? UAE hrtmon is completely "hidden" until it is started for the first time.

I use SA and LA commands. WS/WL doen not save all the info to reliably restore state. But saves to HDD nice. If SA/LA could use the WHD to save/load this would be great.

@amigoun: I doubt that SA & LA can save state on a real amiga with HRTMon software only.
It would need to know what's in the write-only copper registers for instance. Maybe I'm wrong about this? @Toni: yes it works. The only thing which would be great would be the ability to change HRTMon settings from WinUAE. For instance, the keyboard configuration (I use french keyboard). Or detect that the installed windows keyboard is french and set it by default (else I have to type setmap f). On software-only hrtmon I have saved the setting. |

In fact it works quite well. I have walkthrough many games with the help of those save-states thanks to hrtmon.
Long time ago I made this video demonstrating how easy it is: [ Show youtube player ] Of course there are some limits. One is that only chipmem is saved (that is why I run nofastmem before starting a game from whdload) and second that some registers are read-only. But still many games can be save-stated fine. |

I think the limit is those games that get gfx corrupted when you press hrtmon key also another limit is this program only work on FFS partitions, not works on PFS3 or SFS partitions so I created a small FFS partition just for hrtmon use |

So HRTmon must scan to find a probable copperlist.
It also destroys sprite colors sometimes. The problem if you don't set NOFASTMEM is that the fastmem memory block allocated is different each time with whdload (when slave supports extmem) |

Interestingly the main sprite color corruption often occurrs on AGA, but does not occur on ECS.
