Here are a few worth checking out:
Champ Man 93 is the most obvious one. Even now it's incredibly addictive if a little on the easy side, but you can still lose entire days with it. On The Ball World Cup Edition is a cracker. Although there are no real players, it's very atmospheric and believable as players are treated like human beings rather than mere numbers. You can talk to the players and the media and everything you say has an affect on them. You can play the entire tournament from the qualifiers, and the highlights are great as well. I think one mag described it as more of a soap opera rather than a standard footy manager. Also try Super League Manager. This game is a bit different as everything is fictional, meaning you have no preconceptions of players' abilities. Also there are no stats which means you have to discover players' abilities and characters for yourself. Again it's incredibly atmospheric and you even get to play the odd match yourself. The best bit though is the plant you get to water on your desk! |

Ultimate Soccer Manager wasn't bad... it had that "Bung" element to it as well which was a little different... I remember George Graham getting the boot for that sort of thing... what ever happened to him, thought he would be back in management by now... or doing a quiz show at least.
Premier Manager II wasnt bad either - the third version I found a bit on the dull side... stats... stats...stats... Never played on the ball but the screen shots look good... |

A guy from Poland wrote PSV Football Manager in the late 90s. It's pretty good apparently (I personally don't get the point of such games but that's just me ). I thought it was uploaded to Aminet but I can't seem to find it .

thanks for the suggestions guys. i will give them a try.
I do like the premier manager series but i feel like tryin something new. PM was great but the 3D matches take so long it gets boring if your losing. if only they gave you an option to turn it off. |

It was discussed over at PPA with links for Demonoid and an FTP, while Dizzy posted it here. |

I've screwed up the name. You're right, it's PSV Eindhoven.

Funny that it's still not in HOL :/
On my Ami, it's hangs (well, exits to AMOS editor actually) right after the intro IIRC, the maker of the game was "Frey" (forgot his real name) from the Amiga Computer Studio magazine, a great football fan BTW: It's not an Aminet due to some pics in the game being "unoficially" scanned from various magazines/comics and stuff... |
