have you tried replacing the capacitors? Maybe it will do.

Yes, also the A1200 was tested with another A500 PSU.

Still might be an idea to re-cap. - It would be cheaper than buying another board.... but yeah.... a waste of time if it's still dead poorly after re-capping.....
Don't forget, Capacitors "store" Energy & if the circuit isn't pumped, it won't work. Hopefully, the guy testing this can read & diagnose circuit diagrams?

Seems like a short in the mother burned the audio chip... I have just bought a MB from Italy... Hope it gets here OK! And the old mother will serve as replacement parts....
