Amiga Games on the BIG Screen!
A few days ago I hooked up my 50 inch Panasonic HD plasma TV to my PC and was trying out a few Amiga games to see how they looked on a large screen. Surprisingly they didn't look too bad.
Here is a picture of my PC running Breathless on WinUAE and connected to my TV via a long HDMI cable. I used the image scale and strech options to enlarge the main view to fill the entire screen. Needless to say, it was great fun to play on such a large display. Anyone else tried this? Feel free to post pics of your Amiga games on large screens. ![]() |

Here is mine (47'' TV):
![]() Yes, it does look great. However I've never had a console so I was never a 'couch' player... I will always prefer the desk. ![]() |

Took these yonks ago, is a 40in LCD
![]() Still looked great though! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This is using the Zoom feature of the TV since the game was in 'letter box' 14x9 ish format! ![]() God bless my original A1200 with the yellow keys, I wonder where that fella is these days! (sold it to ck1200 on these boards and he sold it on so it could be anywhere!) Last edited by fitzsteve; 21 June 2012 at 17:40. |

65" plasma:
![]() a bit of stunt car racer on it: [ Show youtube player ] (in case you´re wondering, the lines moving up and down on the screen are artifact created by video camera, not visible while playing fortunately) You know I can enable the 2d to stereoscopic 3d conversion of the tv in this game and it interprets the flat shaded 3d very well indeed. Fun times with 3d glasses and a miggy ![]() |

I didn't even know tellys could be so big. That A1200 looks like it came out of a dolls house.

It felt like too big for one day. Very big for a week... then you get used to it and it feels great. High definition and 3d material is what it´s best for (Avatar in 3d was awesome) but it does a decent job of scaling to retro stuff too. Alien breed 3d 2 converted to stereoscopic 3d is very nice with the enemy projectiles flying straight at ya! (I instintively kind of dodge them by moving my head

What about an original A1200 with RGB scart? Does it work on a 'Big' LED TV?

Well my 1200d certainly works with my plasma as well as with my secondary lcd using rgb scart. Used it a lot that way before I got the indi aga.

A thread for showing off big-screen Amiga setups? Well if you insist
![]() ![]() big-screen-amiga-1 by videogameperfection, on Flickr Fantasy World Dizzy, zoomed with aspect ratio maintained! ![]() big-screen-amiga-2 by videogameperfection, on Flickr Apidya - Only a little zoom needed this time ![]() big-screen-amiga-3 by videogameperfection, on Flickr Closeup showing simulated scanlines (moire patters not present on actual TV) My Setup:- Sony KDL-40Z4500 TV 40" (lovely low input lag TV) Extron RGB 203 Rxi interface (needed for picture centring) DVDO Edge video processor (for zooming and XRGB3 compatibility) XRGB3 video processor (properly handles Amiga's low resolution modes, optionally adds fake scanlines) Amiga CD32 + SX32 and CF hard drive Biggest problem with HDTVs is the deinterlacing, feed them an interlace image and it comes out as a wonderful flicker free workbench. Feed them a non-interlaced game and they try to deinterlace that too ![]() ![]() |
