Developer CD v2.1 - networking files missing?
I was just browsing the SANA-II specification and noticed in the "README" ("EXTRAS/NETWORKING/SANA-II" on the CD that the sources for the A2060 and A2065 Commodore controllers are supposed to be inlcuded. The archive has clearly been modified for some reason due to the SLIP source being in "SLIP_SRC" and not "SRC/SLIP". Does anybody have any idea why those 2 drivers I speak of aren't there (licensing?) and where I might find them!? Since the whole specification is "freely distributable" I can't make out why this is!
If anybody has an old developer CD to check for the files, I'd appreciate it. I have a lead at Back 2 The Roots of all places (http://www.back2roots.org/Aminet/Tre...5v216a.lha/us/) but don't want to bother the guy if I don't have to. Amiga inc. seem to be doing something to enhance the specification still too so I might have to enquire there! |

SLIP source...
Hm, that's strange. Are you referring to the SLIP protocol source? Seems so, so why not check sourceforge for implementations, which will be compilable on the miggy or get it from some hacker. (in the linux sense that is...). But yeah, they should be there, after all SLIP was developed openly, wasn't it.

You should tell Olaf Barthel about this, he compiled the CD and so should know.

Thank you, have now emailed him. I'm sure it'll turn out that there's no conspiracy to conceal the files!

If he sends you the missing files, could you please forward them to me, or post them to the Zone? That way I can put them on my site for everyone to enjoy. So that people don't have to waste Olaf's precious time over and over again to get these files.

I now have a reply. He said that they were never publically released and besides, were written in 100% assembler. Therefore, the SLIP source is really the only thing of any use to anybody (this is actually true for a small project I'm working).
