History of Nova Design
Hi all, busy writing my next article for Amiga Addict and wanted to get some info on Nova Design. They are credited with creating ImageFX, but when I look in the Amiga World mags, it is GVP who is listed as the owners.
Was GVP just the distributers in the Americas? What about CineMorph, that too is listed as a GVP product. I know it got integrated into ImageFX later, but was initially sold seperately. |

GVP published the initial versions of ImageFX. NovaDesign started publishing it with - I think - version 2.0.
I’ve never seen ImageFX 1.x, but I assume NovaDesign was the developer all along. I know that wasn’t the case with Aladdin, which had a different developer in its earlier versions before NovaDesign acquired it. |

Kermit Woodall has a site, maybe you can contact him and ask him for an interview or just more info.

Kermit also did some of the very early work on external computers serving as accelerators, like we now have in the PiStorm. I remember he had a site showcasing an A1000 beside a (Windows?) x86 machine, with the PC wired into the 68K socket and emulating the Amiga CPU in software. This was probably 15+ years ago - really cutting-edge stuff that we're only now seeing fully realized as a concept.

I did see that sight, but I was not sure it was the same person. Thanks everyone.
