This is awesome I gotta say, adding sounds makes it feel a lot more like a game, and I love that you showed us how you worked on implementing it with the code and all that jazz, I was never a a coder (except for simple basic and html) but I still find stuff like that interesting.

move.b aud_volume_1(a2),AUD0VOL(A0) use move.b aud_volume_1(a2),AUD0VOL+1(A0) or move.w aud_volume_1(a2),AUD0VOL(A0) Because problems for 68040 and 68060. |

I think he means he wants to see new wall textures and the like.
We already got a long and interesting video, no need to stress on seeing new stuff, it will turn up eventually. |

I am missing one more sound effect - foot steps at least occasionally when player makes big direction changes or start moving...

We have to accept and respect that, even it takes more time for the game overall progress. But better to wait a bit more, then project to stop. @KK/Altair Awesome video. Very informative, and I always learn something new. @Tsak Looking forward to it. |

But if not for videos, you would be left in the dark about this project, so I keep making them for you and to connect with you all. Quote:
In fact, it motivated me to do making-of for the Dread. |

Very nice video again! Have watched it once now but will watch it again. The dynamic stereo feature is really cool. So are the animations that explain how Paula works. I wonder though if there is something to be gained sound quality wise in the downsampling. Maybe some proper FIR filtering during the conversion?

Are you sure the real Amiga 500 blitter will support the rate of what you impose?
Incredible video by the way. |

Your tool for dread might already have a name, but if it does not, i would call it Monday - because that is what people dread most
Or,in short, Monday Makes (you) Dread Last edited by saimon69; 26 April 2021 at 00:30. |

The main problem comes from the fact, that Paula does no sample interpolation at all and the lover we go, the more distorted sound becomes. Quote:
If the latter, she already does. If Paula couldn't vary sample playback rates smoothly, she couldn't play sample-based music. Quote:
For now it's just called DreadTool. But I would love to rewrite the tool at some point, because the internal mess just builds up. |

Ah, will have to watch the video again Last time I watched was on a tablet with the kids running around. And yes, I do completely understand your point about sample interpolation, you can even see it on the sound captures you showed. Some sounds are really clear though while others are a bit more crunchy. Otoh, It sounds a lot like Doom has always sounded Could something be gained then by lowering the sample rate by an integer factor? Like going from 22050 to 4410Hz (divide by 5) instead of 4000Hz?
