Movies that used an Amiga

Titanic and more...
Hey, what about James Cameron’s Titanic? I once read they used many Newtek Toasters for rendering the Titanic at sea. Can anyone confirm this?
Edit: I have some more trivia: Team Hoi (of Venom Wing, Hoi, Clockwiser-fame) also produced in 1993 a commercial for a peanut butter company in The Netherlands. The commercial was fully created with an Amiga. It had some little boys running around a house. The whole house could be viewed side-on like in Little Computer People. A Dutch news-journal for kids used for its weather-forecast animated clouds, rain and sun all created on Amiga. They have used the graphics for almost four years. If anyone is interested in a Dutch article about this, I can put it online within two weeks. Adamski’s legendary song/ videoclip ‘Killer’ (vocals by Seal) featured a section where some afro-guy is dancing on moving grey-slabs on an orange background. This trivia was explained in the July 1990 edition of CU Amiga. Last edited by Tim Janssen; 05 September 2002 at 11:56. |

I ones saw a Andrew Blake movie were they used an amiga, it was some kind of VR thing.
The amiga has also produced a lot of cheap movies, thx to the cheap price of the "hard"ware (pathetic joke). The loch ness movie with Ted danson, they used an amiga for sync the monitor, on the boat. |

I think I heard that an Amiga was used in some way to create scenes of Caine (Kane?) in Robocop2.
And its not the same thing but does anyone remember seeing that A500 in Paul Robinsons office in Neighbores? |

Amiga's were used on and in the series Miami Vice. Jan Hammer who wrote the series theme music used it, but it's seen on the early shows on desktops of the detectives.

Todd Rungren in his Videos
The beginning of Star trek TNG AND Skywalker ranch Used AMIGA when they first set up.. Let alone in that time frame, the AMIGA FORCED MS to go from 256 colors to 16million. If hadnt done it, the AMIGA would be the King.. Graphic card makers Updated and Up graded there Video standards from 512k graphic cards to 1meg, 8meg, 16, 32,64, and NOW 128 meg.(it took almost 10 years) And all the Current Animation progs HAVE TO give there heretige to the TOASTER.. With out it, we would still take 2-5 years to make a 30 sec anim. Last edited by ECA; 06 September 2002 at 02:49. |

Some time ago i read somewhere that the magic carpet in Disney's Aladdin was made on Amigas, and the escape sequence through the lava caves too.

How about movies that had Amigas IN them? I seem to recall some dreadful late eighties Dexter Fletcher flick where he typed away on his Amiga 500 - although what was on the screen was quite un Amiga like...

I thought the pre-production/visulisation work for Jurassic Park was done on Amigas. As for ST:TNG, I wasn't aware they used Amigas... but as a fan of Star Trek, it would make me happy if they had.
The real question is... how many of those companies STILL use Amigas? Babylon 5 (and Seaquest 20302???) went over to PCs soon after Lightwave was ported. |

Jurassic Park...that cracks me up. I remember back when that came out, the Mac guys were quoting one of their (two) magazines in bragging about JP's use of the Macintosh. Turns out it was used in product placement in some of the lab scenes! LOL! We never let them hear the end of that one!
